Barry Fitzgerald scoops Essex FA 40 Year Award of Merit

In recogntion of forty years of administrative service to football in the county, Barry Fitzgerald has been given the Award of Merit by Essex County FA at their recent presentation evening at Colchester United FC.
Having spent the latter part of his youth involved with the running of football clubs, this was followed by positions on the Essex Business Houses League, Romford Charity Cup, Essex Alliance League, Essex Sunday Corinthian Football League, council member, and more latterly dIrector, of Essex County FA.
It goes without saying that forty years of service is an incredible amount of time to devote to our sport, especially given the amount of time required to dedicate to each role.
