SENIOR DIVISION

The last top flight action took place over the weekend with the east London derby between hosts Priory Park Rangers and Sporting Hackney at the Marshes. With both sides already stuck in the relegation places, this was one more for pride as the Parrots ran out 5-2 winners to pick up an eighth win of the campaign.

PREMIER DIVISION EAST

In Premier Division East, Ongar Town have closed the gap on the title race to just a couple of points on the leaders after a successful trip to Dagenham, taking home all three points against cup finalists Soul to make it ten wins for the season. Scout Bown and Alfie Scarborough both got on the scoresheet for Town to net the win.

Just a couple of points further back sit Dagenham United who, with one league game left in their season, picked up a 3-1 home win at Robert Clack, defeating Something From Nothing in a 3-1 result. Hassan Jatta struck for SFN but United goals from Derek Boakye, Halameen Agbaje and Shaquille Mathurin proved enough in the end.

In the division's other fixture, Redbridge Community gave themselves a shot of avoiding a bottom two finish with two games to go after beating a promotion chasing Waltham Abbey A side, scoring the game's only goal. That 1-0 win for the hosts was Redbridge's third of the season with fsix further points up for grabs.

PREMIER DIVISION WEST

Over in the West division, there were some huge games at the top end of the table where Philip United overcame one of their remaining big hurdles, moving to the cusp of the league title following a 3-1 win against Renegade. Philip now just require one more win to push themselves out of reach of the chasing pack below them.

Moving up into fourth place are Newham Wanderers who completed a double header success against London Cranes following a 3-2 win, courtesy of an Evaristo Mendes hat-trick. That was then followed by a 2-1 win in the other fixture with Evaristo scoring again and accompanied onto the scoresheet by Michael Asabre.

DIVISION ONE

In Division One, the race for the runners-up spot moved into the very last games of the season and Royal Lions will the side celebrating as they completed their maiden campaign in Saturday football by comprehensively beating Haringey United in an 11-0 scoreline, their tenth and final win of the season.

The other result that could have impacted that race was from east London where Woodford East Reserves went in search of three points in their clash with Chingford Athletic Reserves. Needing assistance elsewhere, the Peacocks slipped to a 3-2 defeat to end their hopes, despite Will Osmond and Jake Roberts both netting.

The newly crowned champions, Saint City, looked to round off their league season with another win but found a resistant Freetown side keen to end positively themselves. Leo Gaspar scored two and Ismail Abdoune one for City but two Elijah Dapaah goals and a Joshua Fisayo strike meant the points were shared at 3-3.

DIVISION TWO

The Division Two action centres around the race for the title and Royal Forest have done their bit in placing themselves in pole position, beating Old Barkabbeyans in a 3-1 result at Roding Valley courtesy of goals from Fifi Banin, Martin Cannon and Stanley Kweya. Christopher Plummer grabbed the Old Barks goal in reply.

There was double header action elsewhere as Dagenham United shot themselves up the table following four points against Chingford Harriers. A 1-1 draw was first up with Cain Dash scoring for Dagenham and Connor Bailey responding. The other game saw Dagenham win 3-0 with Nyarko Adu, Cain Dash and Diogo Manessim goals completing the action.

DIVISION THREE

The promotion race in Division Three took another turn on Saturday as the Havering derby between Romford Flyers and Collier Row Wheels ended all square at 2-2 with Harry Marsh scoring both of the goals for Romford. That result means Wheels will now need to likely win both of their remaining games, including against their promotion rivals.

The last game of the day came from Hainault where cup final bound Changing Lives and Glendale met in a dress rehearsal for the big night next week. A hard fought contest saw the defences reign over attack, the game ending in a rare 0-0 draw between the two sides who will go again in nine days.
