WEEK 9 REVIEW: Round-up of all the EAL league action from the weekend

FENTON CUP
Greengate District are through to round two of the Fenton Cup following a comfortable looking 5-0 home win on Saturday over Bakers693 with Fabio Veiria and Ruben Silva netting two and Kameren Brown the other.
The day’s second round action also took place at Parsloes Park with Waltham Forest Borough needing the odd goal to eventually prevail against lower ranked opponents, Sporting Hackney, Jack Barnes scoring the game’s only goal.
FENTON TROPHY
The sole Fenton Trophy action of the weekend came from Castle Green where a cupset saw Division Three’s Buckhurst Way triumph in their fixture against Freetown, scoring the game’s only goal in a1-0 win.
SENIOR DIVISION
Friday night’s action saw Ongar Town continue their fine form at the summit, beating CSM London 2-1 in a close game at Wodson Park. Ruben Costache and Yuki Edogiawerie goals proved just enough to render Ifeanyi Umeh’s effort as consolation.
Down at Parsloes Park, Haringey Borough Reserves netted just a second win of the season, beating Sporting Hackney United Reserves 5-1. Jadon Anderson, Abdul Bangura, Alexander Nicolaides, Luke Von Herkomer and Damanie Campbell all struck, Aminur Rahman with the Bengal replies.
The big result from the day on Saturday came from Noak Hill where FC Petrocub were hoping to bounce back to winning ways but with a tough London Harts United side in front of them. It was Harts who took the victory here, 4-0 to continue their upwards climb.
That result meant that Saint City could move second with a victory and they did just that eventually, edging their clash 3-2 with Frenford Development. Peter Oyetunji and Beau Samuels netted for the hosts with Rodney Capemba, Richard Boah and Alberto Jal responding for City.
Over at Wadham Lodge, Ryan moved clear of any immediate danger with a third win of the season, defeating Woodford Town Under 23s in a 2-1 result. Omar Dacas and Oliver Webdale scored the Ryan goals with Trey Alexzander-Roberts responding for Town.
A couple of draws round off the remaining action, beginning in Hainault where Kulture took on Fairlop Rovers in a humdinger of a game. A goal-filled contest saw the points eventually shared, 3-3 the final scoreline.
There was late drama at Robert Clack also where Chadwell Heath Spartans struck late on with Brandon Johnson scoring their goal but there was still time for Labron Philip to level the contest for Dagenham United to see the game end locked at 1-1.
PREMIER DIVISION EAST
In Premier Division East, Something From Nothing earned their first victory of the season with a 5-1 win over Buckhurst Hill Under 23s. Miguel Da Silva, Mike Nduakala, Aaron Francis-Hendricks, Harvi Shaw and Temitope Oladimeji were the scorers, Alfie Padington responding for the visitors.
Down at Lakeside, AS Rapid Londra continued their push for promotion, sitting third helped by a 4-1 home victory over Romford Town Flyers. Cristinel Dinu, Andi Hotoi, Ionut Labunt and Sebastian Rzepa scored the vital goals, Max Setford responding with Flyers’ consolation.
Manford Way Reserves are the league leaders but only on goal difference amongst four other sides on ten points, ending 2-2 with Condor on Saturday, with Jayden Hocking-Rising and Dylan Broadley amongst the Manford scorers.
Another side amongst the promotion chasing pack are Bealonians who remain unbeaten following their narrow 2-1 home win against Motormen in Barkingside with Ashley Farrer and Louie Morales scoring the Beals goals.
Fifth placed Old Barkabbeyans are sitting just a point further back after netting their third win of the season on Saturday, 3-1 victors over Athletic Newham Under 23s. Emmanuel Alli, Keenan Lewis and Yunus Mussa were on the Barks scoresheet, Dayson Rosa replying for Newham.
PREMIER DIVISION WEST
It’s Unitey who continue to hold top spot in the West division but with sides beneath them having games in hand. They were 2-1 winners over London Cranes on Saturday where Mubarak Mohammed struck twice, overcoming Mohammed Sharubuto’s goal.
Second place is held by Vallance who remain unbeaten following the weekend’s 4-2 home success over Ocean Pacific where Kaywan Khourshid, Oscar Harris, Mikie Robinson and Ayoub Altmani goals helped them to the win.
It’s three wins from four for newly formed Onyx who continued their strong start with a 1-0 home win over FC Baresi Reserves. Akeem Walcott struck with the only goal of the game for the hosts to take them onto nine points.
Fourth placed Newham Wanderers remain unbeaten and they made it two wins for the season so far with a 3-1 victory over North East Lions. Jason Tang scored for Lions but Emmanuel Chukwumah’s brace and a Jamil Gaawo goal won it for Newham.
The division’s other game saw the match from Wadham Lodge end in a 1-1 score draw as West Essex Reserves shared the spoils with Old Esthameians, a point remaining the gap between the two sides by full-time.
DIVISION ONE EAST
Loughton Town moved three points clear at the top of Division One East following a strong 6-2 home win against Old Barkabbeyans Reserves. Tyler Turner and Tunji Ebun-Cole scored for the visitors but Town won it through goals from Charlie Hurlock, Jordan French, Billy Jennings, Owen McKelvey, Jack Davey and Callum Mullings.
There were nine goals in the division’s other contest where Lymore Gardens Reserves and Dagenham United Reserves met at Parsloes, Lymore ending the game 6-3 winners despite Ciaran Innis, Enos Owusu and Charlie Landers netting for Dagenham in consolation.
DIVISION ONE WEST
The theme of goals continued in the West division where Get Rich Together produced their best performance in a 10-1 home win over Changing Lives at Lakeside on Saturday, despite an Oumar Diambo goal from the visitors.
The leaders are Hackney Wanderers however who have won four of the opening five and are two points clear after beating London Park City 8-0. Michael Morgan scored a hat-trick, Patrick Machado a brace, Mussie Tesfagergish and Rabbu Itela scoring the others.
It was win number three for UK Moldova on Saturday, overcoming Muhamadziyo Karimov’s hat-trick for Tajik Unity, to win 6-3 courtesy of two goals from Dumitru Nanii plus efforts from Ion Cuzuioc, Andrei Punga, Bogdan Rus and Dan Zamsa.
Saint City Reserves were also in hot form in front of goal with a big 4-0 away win over Sich London in Barkingside where Dimitar Nedyalkov, Glory Bello, Emmanuel Hammond and Rafik Ibrahim goals were too much for the hosts.
There was a five-goal thriller in Walthamstow where Leyton City edged the contest 3-2 with SP United by the odd goal as Awal Lawal’s double and a Ayomide Ajisafe goal proved vital, Aidas Jasikevicius and Richard Arhin netting for United in consolation.
DIVISION TWO
Iona Wheels kept themselves in pole position at the top of Division Two’s standings, scoring the game’s only goal against Kulture Reserves at Chigwell Lane, Harry Gilham scoring the all important effort in a 1-0 success.
It was a strong afternoon for Chingford Harriers who netted six goals without reply to defeat London Academics 6-0. Andrew Bowring scored two, Edwin Ohemeng-Manu, Regan Marshall, Mitchell Mills and Darnell Lamothe efforts completing the scoresheet.
Over at Fairlop Oak, Eastside Foundation came from behind to prevail over Glendale in a thrilling 5-3 contest. Two Mohammed Gueye efforts and Emmanuel Ejembi’s header put the Dales ahead but Mikael Martin’s brace, Bailey Childs, Alejando da Costa and Benjamin Shoderu goals proved pivotal.
DIVISION THREE
The was a five-goal thriller at Westlands where Old Parkonians B produced a 3-2 success against Romford Town Flyers A, helped by a couple of Emeka Ezeleu goals and a Vilius Dambrauskas strike. Bradley Mott netted the two Romford goals in response.
The other game from the division saw Upminster Albion share the spoils in their fixture with Cobra, the match ending in a 1-1 draw with Joshua Barron on target for Albion, a result which keeps the hosts a couple of points ahead of their opponents.
COUNTY CUP
In the BBC Essex Premier Cup, Inter Newbury’s return trip to Old Southendian almost saw them pull off a cupset but it was the step 7 side who took the win in a 3-2 scoreline, taking their place in round two.
It was a clean sweep for league clubs in the Essex Junior Cup where Chadwell Heath Spartans Reserves produced a strong win against higher ranked opposition, beating Old Parkonians 3-1 in Barkingside.
FC Alpha also overcame higher ranked opponents as they travelled the short distance to Harold Hill A and came away victorious against the Mid Essex top-flight side, 3-0 winners to secure a place in round two.
Up in Sawbridgeworth, Division One side Parsonage Leys are safely through to the second round also after a hard fought 2-1 home success against Olympian League’s Galleywood Reserves.
It was also a cupset result in the Essex Junior Trophy where CSM London Under 23s scored both of the game’s goals against Southern Amateur League side Old Parkonians Reserves, winning 2-0 to move into the next round.
The AFA Challenge Cup saw first round action and it was a tough trip to Hedinghams United for London East who went down by just the odd goal in a 2-1 defeat against their Essex & Suffolk Border League opponents.
There was an all-EAL first round tie in the AFA Intermediate Cup competition where Old Parkonians A started their cup trail with a narrow 2-1 win against local rivals, Bealonians Reserves.
