The last round of August fixtures took place over the weekend, beginning on Friday night where a nine-goal thriller saw Kulture Klub net late on to take a 5-4 win against Waltham Forest Borough having earlier surrended a lead. Theo Jones, Tyrese Sibanda, Kobi Osei, Landry Gogoa and Mohamed Abubakar struck with their goals while Dylan Florence's brace and strikes from Samir Bihmoutine and Joshua Fisayo all scored for Borough.
The theme of goals continued into Saturday and leaders CSM London saw their perfect start come to an end, coming back to take a point against Fairlop Rovers in Walthamstow as the game ended in a 2-2 draw. Charlie Harper and Stefanos Ladoukakis both scored for Rovers but Jesse Jones and Luke Sinnott-Thomas effort ensured CSM walked away with a point.
That result enabled chasing sides to make up ground with six sides sitting on seven points including second placed Frenford Development who were in seventh heaven following a big 7-0 win away at Bakers693 to remain unbeaten so far. Keenan Gravillis and Tyler Shillingford both struck twice with Shanlon Thomas, Faruk Abdullahi and Odunayo Elifosi scoring off the bench.
Just behind them in third sit the only other unbeaten side so far in Haringey Borough Under 23s as they made the trip around the A406 to face Chadwell Heath Spartans at The Drive. Borough walked away the happier of the sides in this one, winning 3-0 to take their own points tally to seven for the season and continue to be one of the sides tipped for success.
After a mixed start to the season, fourth placed Lymore Gardens got back into winning form and took a decent scalp too following a big 6-1 away win against previously unbeaten Walthamstow Reserves at Wadham Lodge. Tyrique Peters scored a hat-trick, adding to goals from Papa Ndiaye, Ryo Brown and Dylan Roberts, the 'Stow consolation goal arriving through Edward Mavakala.
It was a similar story for Ongar Town who were also on four points leading into their away game on Saturday against Woodford Town Reserves at Ashton Playing Fields. It was a win for Ongar however after ninety minutes who have Max Galati and Scout Bown to thank for their second win of the season, securing a 2-0 result to send Woodford to a first defeat.
Over at Noak Hill, FC Petrocub were the hosts as they started the day level with AS Rapid Londra on three points apiece in the lower reaches of the table. But it was Petrocub who got off to a fast start with Gheorghe Cucos' pace troubling the visitor's defence with two goals, alongside an Alexei Ciobanu free-kick which had opened the scoring initially, those efforts taking their side to a comfortable 3-0 win.
The action for the weekend is completed at Wadham Lodge where the day's early kick-off saw a seven-goal thriller as Sporting Hackney took on a Philip United side fresh off of a big win last weekend. The Parrots remain in search of their first points of the season but can take some confidence from a close contest, Philip ending narrow 4-3 winners on the day to take their second win.
