WEEK 22 REVIEW: Round-up of all the EAL league action from the weekend

FENTON TROPHY

The Fenton Trophy presented a cupset in the third round where CSM London Under 23s overcame a division deficit in defeating Dagenham United Reserves 4-0, courtesy of goals from Ali Cagiran, Healing Bussolino, Joel Momba and Husainey Sankano.

There was quarter-final action too where Division One’s FC Alpha had home advantage with the visit of London Academics. A goal each from Stanislav Baciu and Liviu Nistreanu were enough for the hosts to move into the semi-finals with a 2-0 victory.

SENIOR DIVISION

The leaders increased their advantage, London Harts United producing an 8-3 away victory over Fairlop Rovers. Tam Retyi scored two, David Moyo, Michael Olatunji, Caleb Roberts, Isaac Sijuade, George Mwale and Denola Ayanbule netting the others.

Over in Beckton, a close game saw Ongar Town earn another valuable three points after a 2-1 victory against CSM London. Wesley Antonio and Jack Walden scored the goals for Town with Junior Milla netting the CSM consolation.

There was a seven goal thriller in the game at Robert Clack where Dagenham United were edged out in the end by Kulture, 4-3 the scoreline, despite Dagenham goals from Enos Owusu, Jorginho Gomes and Yusuf Cetin.

The other game from the division came from The Drive where Haringey Borough Reserves’ away trip to take on Frenford Development ended in them leaving with all three points, two Alexander Nicolaides goals giving Borough a 2-0 win.

PREMIER DIVISION CUP

The Premier Cup action started on Friday night and saw Bakers693 take on Priory Park Rangers at Parsloes Park, the hosts winning that one 2-1 through a goal each from David Macauley and Mason Deegan.

Then on Saturday afternoon, action from Barking Abbey School saw Old Barkabbeyans leave the happier of the teams from their tie against Romford Town Flyers, Barks ending 2-0 winners through goals from Thomas Green and Lucas Jimack.

PREMIER DIVISION EAST

In Premier Division East, Bealonians saw off fellow promotion contenders, AS Rapid Londra, to go top after winning 5-1 through an Andrew Dukes brace and goals from Louie Morales, Ashley Farrer and Rhys Clements. Cristian Cazacu struck with Rapid’s goal in reply.

The division’s other game came from Parsloes Park where Inter Newbury produced a strong derby winning performance against Kit Out London as Ethan Onyait-Etemewei, Jordan Gallagher and Kyran Chiedozie all netted in a 3-0 win.

PREMIER DIVISION WEST

There were plenty of goals in the West where Onyx produced a strong performance to defeat title chasing Vallance in Walthamstow, Kelean Motobaluti’s goal proving crucial in a 2-1 win for his side, Mikie Robinson scoring for the visitors in reply.

The biggest win of the division came from Newbury Park where Old Esthameians were put to the sword in a 6-0 defeat to Unitey. Mubarak Mohammed scored two, John N’Cho, Daimend Gebrehiwat, Abdualhakim Mahammed and Jamal Bei-McIntosh the others.

There was a seven-goal thriller in Walthamstow where North East Lions prevailed in a 4-3 win over FC Baresi Reserves helped by goals from Jai Perkins (2), Nnamdi Efobi and Shaquille Amara. Nikhil Juggessur, Steven Aguiar and Mkay Kitoko scored for Baresi in reply.

DIVISION ONE EAST

At Barking Abbey Sports Ground, it was leaders, Royal Forest, who left with all three points as they recorded a solid 7-3 away victory over Old Barkabbeyans Reserves despite goals from Tyler Turner, Shola Shonibare and Gabriel Ohuruogu.

Bealonians Reserves started the day trailing Redbridge Community by four points at Lakeside Sports Ground but ended it just one behind, Lucas Folwell, Ashley Webster and Harry Killick scoring in a 3-1 Beals win.

DIVISION ONE WEST

Goals flowed in the West too where leaders, Hackney Wanderers, ensured themselves of staying top once again after a 4-2 away win over Sich London with Valentin Svidruk’s goals overcome by efforts from Michael Morgan, Muhammed Omotoso, Toby Bloomfield and Ryan Lewis.

Parsonage Leys moved closer to the promotion places on goal difference after a comprehensive 7-0 home win against UK Moldova where Bradley Byford, Dwayne Smith and Jake Turner braces were accompanied by Costa Azzopardi’s goal.

Get Rich Together moved up into sixth spot after a 6-1 away win over second placed Leyton City. Romeo Bwana scored for City but Jake Cameron and Maxwell Shaw braces plus goals from Gunay Ahmet, Isaiah Djoboga and Mohammed Malik proved too much.

At the other end of the table, it was win number two this season for Tajik Unity who moved to within a point of safety with a 3-1 win over London Park City courtesy of two Muhamadziyo Karimov goals and one from Saodatsho Alfatov.

The other match came from east London where Saint City Reserves were in home action with the visit of Changing Lives where a goal apiece from Dimitar Nedyalkov and Glory Bello were enough for a 2-0 Saints win.

DIVISION TWO CUP

The opening tie of the Division Two Cup saw Freetown in first round action at home to Kulture Reserves. It was the visitors leaving with a place in the quarters, Kulture 6-0 winners through Adam Priest and Moussa Traore braces, Habib Orekoya and Dylan Bonsu scoring the others.

DIVISION TWO

In Division Two, Thurrock Thameside’s home clash with Glendale at Lakeside saw them come from a goal down to Valter Correia’s first half effort for the Dales to win the game 3-1 with an improved second half performance.

It was points shared in the late game from Peter May where Chingford Harriers were held to a 2-2 score draw against Lymore Gardens Under 23s where Luzolo Melo and Stanley Nwagborogu goals helped the visitors earn a point.

DIVISION THREE CUP

Buckhurst Way remain top of the group in the Division Three Cup after making it seven points from an available nine following their high-scoring 3-3 draw against Romford Town Flyers A, Georgie Edmonds-Jeffries scoring two and Ronnie Challis one for the visitors.

In the competition’s other game, it was a Dagenham derby as Cobra took on local rivals, Jays, at Parsloes Park. It was victory for the away side as Jays won 2-0 through a goal each from Harrison Happe-Heatley and Anthony Bonsu.

DIVISION THREE

There was just the one game back in the league in Division Three and it saw Old Parkonians B and Upminster Albion take a share of the spoils in a 1-1 draw with Reece Symons scoring for the hosts and George Cornwell bagging the Albion goal.

COUNTY CUP

In the BBC Essex Premier Cup, Ocean Pacific produced one of the shocks of the fourth round with a 3-0 win away at Essex & Suffolk Border League step seven side, Springfield, to net themselves a quarter-final slot.

Joining them at that stage of the competition will be Waltham Forest Borough who continued their strong run of form with a 3-1 victory against fellow EAL side, Woodford Town Under 23s.

It was a tough afternoon however for Chadwell Heath Spartans who went a man down in their tie at Hutton Reserves and the hosts came through as 5-2 winners in the end, seeing Spartans exit the competition at the last sixteen stage.
