FENTON CUP
Holders, Chadwell Heath Spartans, are ninety minutes away from a return to the big stage of the Fenton Cup as they defeated Athletic Newham Under 23s 5-2 in the quarter-finals with two goals from Billy Gipp and Billy Mucheri, the other from Peter Adeleye.
FENTON TROPHY
Another semi-finalist was also confirmed in the Fenton Trophy competition where Get Rich Together’s run in the competition showed no stopping as they netted a late 3-1 victory over Old Parkonians A, despite a Ben Allen strike from the hosts.
SENIOR DIVISION CUP
Tuesday night’s action in the Senior Division Cup pitted CSM London against Haringey Borough Reserves at Coles Park in a closely fought game which ended 1-1 at ninety minutes through goals from Coree Wilson and Nana Sarfo. It was CSM who held their nerve in the shootout to win that 4-1 and move through to the semi-finals.
SENIOR DIVISION
On Friday evening, three was the theme, firstly as Waltham Forest Borough continued their strong run of form with a hard fought 3-2 home victory over Greengate District in the Parsloes derby. Dean Florence, Kazim Bishop and Jack Barnes scored the vital goals with Ruben and Lua Silva responding for Greengate.
Three was the number of goals it took for Ongar Town to record their victory too as they produced the goods in a 3-0 home win over Fairlop Rovers as a goal apiece from Finlay Cook, Max Galati and Mohamed Abubakar separated the sides.
Haringey Borough Reserves’ second run out of the week saw them return to action again on Friday as they saw the visit of Dagenham United to Coles Park where Marco Magunga’s hat-trick was the difference in a 3-1 Borough win, despite Adjilson Santo getting on the United scoresheet.
On Saturday afternoon, it was another game that needed three goals as leaders, London Harts United, produced a solid win at Parsloes Park to beat Sporting Bengal United Reserves in a 3-0 scoreline with goals from Tam Retji, Martin Ayuk and Fernandez Magba.
Over at Wadham Lodge, a close game saw Ryan leave with all three points in the end, edging a five-goal thriller with Frenford Development 3-2, despite goals from James Ikotun and Khari Pobi for the visitors.
FC Petrocub London’s trip to Whitbreads proved to be a fruitful one, scoring five without reply in a 5-0 win over Woodford Town Under 23s as Eugen-Nicolae Lupan’s brace was supplemented by further goals from Gheorghe Cucos, Dan Burlacu and Mykhailo Romanets.
A good week for CSM London was completed by a victory in their opening match at the Levels Centre of Excellence where a goal each from Nana Sarfo and Tyrell Huggins-Solomons was enough to record a 2-0 home success over Kulture.
PREMIER DIVISION CUP
The Premier Division Cup saw first round action on Saturday including some six-goal thrillers, beginning at Parsloes Park where Kit Out London ended locked at 3-3 with Condor courtesy of two Omar Kaddoura goals and one from Emmanuel Balogun, equalled by Condor goals from Darius Darie, Emanuel Sfichi and Liviu Tihon. It was Kit Out who held their nerve to win the resulting shootout 5-4.
There was a similar pattern to the game between Manford Way Reserves and Inter Newbury who finished 3-3 at with Tyrell Holder, Dylan Broadley and Brandon Fulton seeing their efforts levelled by Kai Wade (2) and Daniel Garfinkle. But Newbury left the happier after winning the resulting shootout 5-4.
It was a more routine outing for Newham Wanderers following their away tie at Buckhurst Hill Under 23s, Newham racking up a 7-0 win on the day aided by Muhammed Camara’s hat-trick, two Robertson Morais goals and one each from Michael Asabre and Emmanuel Chukwumah.
There were just the six goals in the game at Flanders where London Cranes saw their run reach an end with a 4-2 home defeat against AS Rapid Londra. Andi Hotoi and Vasile Copilus both struck twice for the visitors to hand their side a place in round two.
The away day successes continued in Newbury Park as Old Esthameians were unable to replicate their cup form from last season after West Essex Reserves went through 4-1 at their expense, despite Stef Popescu’s strike for the hosts.
Over at Fairlop Oak, there was a good game between Something From Nothing and Onyx which needed the odd goal to separate them at full-time as Akeem Walcott, Andy Adomakoh and Gideon Adomakoh goals were enough for Onyx to win it 3-2.
PREMIER DIVISION EAST
There was just the one game in Premier Division East, presenting Bealonians with a chance to close the gap on the sides above, duly obliging with a 5-0 away win over Motormen. Andrew Dukes, Louie Morales, Ashley Farrer, Daniel Armstrong and Sidney Taylor scored the vital goals.
PREMIER DIVISION WEST
Over in the West division, the Peter May derby pitted Ocean Pacific up against North East Lions in the day’s late kick-off where goals from Oskar Plusa and Arthur Wright weren’t enough for Lions on the day. Carlos Solis and Eduin Aguilar both scored two, Jossue Sierra and Darwin Orozco the others in a 6-2 Ocean win.
The other clash from the division came from Loughton where Unitey continued closing the gap on the sides above them to just four points with a hard fought 2-1 home win over Sporting Hackney, making it seven league wins for the hosts this term who sit third.
DIVISION ONE CUP
In the Division One Cup, goals were the order of the day, starting at Leventhorpe Leisure Centre where Parsonage Leys produced the goods in a 9-2 win over Old Barkabbeyans. Dwayne Smith and Byron Opeodu struck hat-tricks, Jake Turner netted two and Costa Azzopardi one for the hosts.
It was another high-scoring win for a host side at Parsloes Park where Lymore Gardens Reserves were the victors on the day with a 6-1 win against SP United. Richard Arhin scored for SP but Terence Martin and Paul Benfield braces, along with Claudio Siciliani and William Davies goals were too much.
Bealonians Reserves also assured themselves of a place in the next round with an away victory over Dagenham United Reserves at Robert Clack as Daniel Mahoney, Harris Hayter, Ashley Webster and Max Robson goals won it 4-1, Cain Dash scoring for Dagenham in reply.
It took the odd goal to separate the two sides in the remaining game from Wadham Lodge where an Alfie Bruno goal from Leyton City wasn’t quite enough, Deren Kale scoring twice for Chadwell Heath Spartans Reserves in a 2-1 win for them.
Second round action saw Changing Lives in action with a home tie against Romford Town Flyers Reserves where the visitors left the happier, Georgie Edmonds-Jeffries scoring both Romford goals in a 2-1 win, rendering Agoro Fuad’s strike as consolation.
DIVISION ONE EAST
There was a big result at Lakeside on Saturday where leaders, Loughton Town, saw their winless start to the new year extended after a 4-0 away defeat against third placed Redbridge Community, courtesy of goals from Henry Asare, Gabriel Ogunwomoju, Adam Abdelaziz and Freddy Nuamah.
DIVISION ONE WEST
The goals piled in across the games in the West, beginning at Redbridge Sports Centre where London Park City slipped to a heavy 10-3 defeat against UK Moldova with both Vasile Galusca and Dumitry Nanii scoring four goals each for the victors.
It was just the five goals in the other game from as Hackney Wanderers moved top of the table with a 4-1 home win over Tajik Unity at Peter May with Toby Bloomfield’s brace putting them on their way, Patrick Machado and Michael Morgan scoring the other goals.
DIVISION TWO
It was a goal-filled afternoon in Division Two also where Eastside Foundation produced a big 9-1 away success against London Academics. Asher Modeste and Ryan Taylor scored twice, Benjamin Shoderu, Jack Houston-Taylor, De’Juane Crossdale and Joshua Junaid the others while Terrill Blake-Alleyne scored for the hosts in reply.
Over at Fairlop, a thriller saw Lymore Gardens Under 23s get into a 4-1 lead over Glendale with Nicholas Barbosa scoring twice, Rakin Menezes and Odilijonov Ibrohimbek the others. But a late Dales fightback saw them win it 6-4 through two Jibo Idris goals and efforts from Achraf El Kheir, Maryis Shamku, Peter Elachi and Emmanuel Ejembi.
It was the meeting of the top two at Parsloes Park with CSM London Under 23s looking to close the gap on Iona Wheels. It was Iona who finished having extended their lead, winning 3-1 with goals from Brett O’Hara, Luke Fearne and Jack Stockdale, Jahim Stapleton-Payne scoring for CSM in reply.
That result also helped Chingford Harriers make up ground on the promotion places as they travelled to Fairlop Oak and left with all three points after a 3-1 win against London East, aided by two Regan Marshall strikes and one from Stephen Duberry.
Thurrock Thameside inflicted just a second league defeat of the season on Kulture Reserves with a hard fought 3-2 away win against them in Debden. Moussa Traore scored twice for Kulture but those efforts proved in vain in the end.
DIVISION THREE
There was just the one completed game in Division Three given the adverse weather and that saw Old Parkonians B complete a comprehensive 7-0 home win over Cobra with braces from Alex Davey-Hardcastle, Ali Hassan and Emeka Ezeleu, Zion Adefarakan with the other effort.
COUNTY CUP
It was fourth round action in the Essex Junior Cup for FC Alpha who had home advantage in the tie with Broomfield. It was the visitors who will have been the happier, Broomfield leaving as 3-1 winners on the day to head into the quarter-finals.
