FENTON CUP

There were a couple of big results in the Fenton Cup where Old Esthameians beat Premier West league leaders, Newham Wanderers 2-1. Harland Taylor and Nelson Goncalves struck for E’s with Robertson Morais scoring for Wanderers.

In the battle of the East sides, Athletic Newham Under 23s were another side to eliminate table-tapping opponents as they defeated AS Rapid Londra in a 2-0 win at Lakeside with Khedir Elias and Rachid Moumen goals doing the business.

It was a more routine victory for former winners, FC Petrocub London, safely through against lower ranked opposition with a 6-1 win against Motormen. Ion Spinu scored a hat-trick, David-Stelian Potinteu two and Eugen-Nicolae Lupan one.

FENTON TROPHY

There was a bit of a cupset in the all-Division One clash of the Trophy as Get Rich Together overcame table-toppers, Loughton Town 5-2. Owen McKelvey scored two for Town but Latel Louis’s scored a hat-trick with  Gunay Ahmet and Ibrahim Timbo adding the others.

There was a second round win for Eastside Foundation who saw off Division Three opponents in the form of Romford Town Flyers A, 4-2, Shannon Taylor, John Mensah, Tyler Houston-Taylor and Asher Modeste netting. Grant Obeney and Jack Walsh scored for Town in reply.

SENIOR DIVISION CUP

The remaining first round ties in the Senior Cup took place during midweek with a single goal enough to separate the teams in the game between Kulture and CSM London at New River on Monday, Ifeanyi Umeh’s goal the only one in a 1-0 CSM victory.

The last of the ties were completed on Wednesday as Woodford Town Under 23s were edged out 2-1 by Chadwell Heath Spartans. Ryan O’Connell and Billy Gipp goals proved enough for Spartans with Trey Alexzander-Roberts netting for Town in consolation.

SENIOR DIVISION

The Senior Division action started on Friday night with Ongar Town seeing a couple of points dropped, drawing 1-1 at Coles Park against Haringey Borough Reserves with Eren Musa netting for them and Luke Von Herkomer for the hosts.

Over at Parsloes Park, it was a Dagenham derby with Greengate District taking on Dagenham United. It was the hosts, Greengate, who left with the points, winning 2-0 through goals from Josh Coulson and Melih Saglam.

Chadwell Heath Spartans rounded off a good week on Saturday afternoon, taking all three points from their trip to Kulture after a 4-0 win, courtesy of goals from Billy Gipp, Joshua George, Elie Fanga and Peter Adeleye.

There were also four goals for London Harts United in their 4-1 victory over Woodford Town Under 23s, overcoming a Joel Oramadike effort to net the win with London goals from John Quissua, Michael Oletunji, Anthony Ralenekov and David Moyo.

A crucial match also took place at Parsloes Park where Sporting Bengal United Reserves went up against fellow relegation threatened Fairlop Rovers. It was Rovers leaving the happier of the sides as Billy Barr and Jayden Francis struck to net them a 2-0 win.

The in-form Waltham Forest Borough kept their winning run going with a strong away performance over Saint City, winning 4-2 with help from Dean Florence’s hat-trick and a Dylan Florence goal. Rodney Capemba and Sandro Pereira netted the City goals in reply.

There was also a vital win for another of the sides towards the bottom end of the table as CSM London were edged out 2-1 by the odd goal against Ryan, despite Tyrell Huggins-Solomons scoring for them.

PREMIER DIVISION EAST

Manford Way Reserves have moved to within two points of the leaders in Premier East with a game in hand, edging their Hainault derby with Something From Nothing 3-2 through goals from Yahya Wahid, Dylan Broadley and Brandon Fulton.

Moving up into third spot are Old Barkabbeyans who picked up a big 4-1 away win against Condor at Parsloes Park. Eugeniu Sterpu scored for Condor with Barks winning it through efforts from Yunus Mussam, Keenan Lewis, Rasheed Heikal and Lucas Jimack.

The same scoreline was reflected in the game at Westlands where Inter Newbury kept a winning run going with a 4-1 win over Romford Town Flyers with Kai Wade, Halameen Agbaje, Fuad Ibrahim and Kieran O’Mahony scoring the goals – Ali Rajim responding for the hosts.

PREMIER DIVISION WEST

Vallance took advantage of the leaders being in cup action in the West division, edging a seven-goal thriller 4-3 against Onyx to close to within a point. Mikie Robinson scored two, Terence Mensah and Wyclef Kayonjo adding the others.

The biggest winners in the division were Sporting Hackney who moved up into fourth spot with a fourth win, defeating Ocean Pacific in a 7-1 scoreline at Peter May Sports Centre.

There was little between the sides at Roding Valley where Unitey were taking on Priory Park Rangers in their game. It was the visitors who left with their first win confirmed, Priory scoring the game’s only goal in a 1-0 win.

It was a victorious afternoon for London Cranes who continued an upturn in form with a fourth win of the season, beating FC Baresi Reserves 4-2 with Arafat Kajjumbi and Arafat Lubega scoring two each. Nikhail Juggessur and Harlem Anderson scored the Baresi consolations.

Over at Wadham Lodge, North East Lions came from behind to earn themselves three points against West Essex Reserves, 3-2 winners with two Ishmail Jalloh goals and one from Mustafa Mohammed.

DIVISION ONE EAST

There was just the one result in the East division where Lymore Gardens Reserves pulled off a big result against title chasing Royal Forest, Lymore winning 4-1 in the game to jump into third place in the table.

DIVISION ONE WEST

There were plenty of goals in the West division where Hackney Wanderers produced an eight goal win over UK Moldova, winning 8-2 helped by a Joshua Sawuna hat-trick and goals from Marcio Ferreira, Patrick Machade, Ryan Lewis, Michael Morgan and Sahid Rashid.

It was nine goals at Flanders where Saint City Reserves also got back in the groove with a 6-3 home win over SP United. Vincent Clifford, Israel Bokoko and Salim Aklil struck for SP but City braces from Aladje Cassama and Glory Bello plus Leo Gaspar and Cartel Emmanuel efforts completed the job.

DIVISION TWO

Over at Fairlop, it was a return to winning ways for Glendale where Emmanuel Ejembi scored all four of the Dales goals in a comfortable 4-0 home victory against Thurrock Thameside.

DIVISION THREE

The final league game of the day saw just a single goal separate the teams with Jays hosting Cobra in the Dagenham derby match. Tommy Byrne was the man making the difference off the bench, scoring for Jays to give them a 1-0 win.

COUNTY CUP

There were wins in four of the five ties of the Essex Junior Cup for league sides, beginning with an impressive win in Sawbridgeworth where Parsonage Leys defeated Broomfield Reserves in a 7-3 scoreline.

Over in Hainault, there was also a win over Olympian opposition for FC Alpha who returned to winning ways following a 4-1 home win over Sungate Reserves to secure a place in round three.

The Division One East derby between Old Parkonians A and Dagenham United Reserves saw a five-goal thriller which Parks came out on top of by the odd goal, the hosts winning 3-2 to progress on in the competition.

It was a win by the odd goal in another all-Division One contest where Old Barkabbeyans Reserves earned themselves a win by the odd goal against an improved Tajik Unity side, Barks 2-1 winners.

The only reverse came on the road for a Changing Lives side who made the trip across to mid Essex to take on Galleywood in round two. It was the hosts who left the happier, Galleywood 3-1 winners on the day.

In the Essex Junior Trophy, the biggest shock of the day came from Barkingside where Division Three’s Old Parkonians B took their second higher ranked scalp of the competition, beating Iona Wheels 4-3 on penalties after a 4-4 draw in the match.

An in-form CSM London Under 23s kept their strong form going with a good home win in the second round against Harold Wood Athletic B, earning their place in the next round on the back of a 5-0 win.

There were goals galore up in Harlow where Bocas Jogabonito were involved in a high-scoring contest with Sandon Royals Reserves, the visitors eventually leaving with the win after a 6-3 final scoreline.

Upminster Albion complete the action from the Trophy as they made their way down the A13 to take on Eversley Athletic, the hosts leaving the happier of the sides as they won the game in a 5-0 scoreline.

In the Old Boys Junior Cup second round, Bealonians Reserves were the league’s representatives on the day with them hosting an Old Parmiterians 2nd team but saw their run come to an end with Parms winning 5-2.
