FENTON CUP

There were a couple of near misses in the Fenton Cup where Premier side Old Barkabbeyans took top flight Frenford Development to a shootout after a 1-1 draw, James Ikotun netting the goal for the hosts and Keenan Lewis scoring for Barks. It was Frenford who then held their nerve to win 4-3 from the spot.

Manford Way Reserves also put in a strong performance against top flight opposition before FC Petrocub London scored twice to win it 3-1 at Noak Hill. Kalum Bama struck for Manford but they couldn’t quite hang on to force a shootout.

Old Esthameians are through into the second round of the competition after coming through by the odd couple of goals, 4-2 winners against Buckhurst Hill Under 23s. Henry Gray’s hat-trick made the difference, Nelson Goncalves with the other while Alfie Edmans and Jayden Izzet responded for Hill.

There was an east versus west battle in the second round where AS Rapid Londra saw themselves heading into round three following a 4-1 home success over Unitey with Wangel Nvima and Andi Hotoi scoring twice each.

Also scoring four to head into the last sixteen, Romford Town Flyers were victorious in the all Premier clash at Fairlop, leaving 4-2 winners following victory over Something From Nothing through goals from Roberto Dragut, George Dawood, Max Setford and Ali Rajim.

FENTON TROPHY

In the Trophy, Romford Town Flyers A produced a real cupset as the Division 3 side saw Sich London’s exit after a 2-2 draw during the ninety minutes with Rostyslav Dutchak and Vasyl Paskar goals levelled by Peter Brinton-Quinn efforts. Flyers then took the 4-2 win from the spot to head through.

There was a near miss in another of the ties where Chingford Harriers held higher ranked Redbridge Community to a 0-0 scoreless draw after ninety minutes but it was Redbridge who took their place in the next round following a 5-4 shootout success.

Holders Chadwell Heath Spartans Reserves continued the defence of their trophy against fellow Parsloes’ tenants, Jays, and recorded a 6-2 victory with two Connor Hoffman goals plus one each from Emmanuel Ampaabeng, Elie Fanga and Miguel Martins.

Confirming a place in round two were Get Rich Together who eventually prevailed from their trip to Barkingside where goals from Femi Babatunde and Jake Cameron goals saw them beat Old Parkonians B 2-0.

Also through into the next round, Bealonians Reserves confirmed safe passage following a 4-2 away success over Old Barkabbeyans Reserves. Ashley Webster scored two, Matthew Ryan and Callum Leeks with the others, overcoming Michael Ryder and Dre Ferlisi efforts.

In the day’s all-Division Two match-up, there was another strong away winning performance from Kulture Reserves who ran out comfortable 5-1 victors over Thurrock Thameside with Moussa Traore netting two, Edmilson De Sousa, Seyed Arfaei and Dylan Bonsu with the others.

SENIOR DIVISION CUP

The Senior Cup action continued on Tuesday evening with rivals Saint City and Greengate District meeting at Mayesbrook Park, City heading into the quarter-finals with a 3-0 result as Richard Seixas scored twice and Sandro Pereira once.

Then on Wednesday evening, it took just a single goal to separate the sides in the game from Coles Park as Fairlop Rovers made the journey to take on Haringey Borough Reserves. It was the hosts, Borough, netting a 1-0 win to head into the last eight.

SENIOR DIVISION

The action began on Friday in the Senior Division where Greengate were looking to bounce back from their midweek reverse with a Parsloes derby against Waltham Forest Borough. It was Borough who won 2-0 as Hayes Thomas and Dylan Florence goals earned their side the points.

The big result from Saturday’s fixtures saw two of the title contenders meet at the Harlow Arena with London Harts United taking on Saint City. It was the hosts, Harts, who took the honours and moved top, winning 3-0.

There was a big result at Robert Clack affecting matters at the other end of the table where Dagenham United secured a big 4-1 home win over Ryan with a goal apiece from Yusuf Cetin, Adjilson Santo, Tajean Lewis and Renato Molaudzi.

Over at The Drive, there was just the one goal in the game between hosts Chadwell Heath Spartans and CSM London. It was Daquan King who scored that crucial goal to give CSM the points in a 1-0 win.

Ongar Town dropped a couple of key points as Kulture earned a valuable one themselves in a 1-1 draw between the sides at Wadham Lodge. Michael Ogunbo struck with the Town goal as the spoils were shared.

It ended level in the other game from the top flight where Woodford Town Under 23s and Sporting Bengal United Reserves ended 2-2 in their game, Myles Weekes and Trey Alexzander-Roberts goals equalled by Darnell Fuller’s brace for Bengal.

PREMIER DIVISION EAST

The top game in Premier East came from Parsloes Park where two of the high-flying sides, Condor and Bealonians, met in a crucial game effecting the promotion chase. Cornelius Wilton-Waddell and Rhys Clements both netted for Beals to hand their side a big 2-1 win.

In the division’s other game from Fairlop, Motormen were up against a Bakers693 side seeking an upturn in form. But goals from Kasai Ilunga and Omo Ali were enough for the hosts to give Motormen a 2-0 win.

PREMIER DIVISION WEST

It was a big weekend for London Cranes who produced their best performance of the season to net a 1-0 win against a previously unbeaten Sporting Hackney with Arafat Lubega’s goal the only scoring moment of the contest.

Over at Wadham Lodge, there was a win for Newham Wanderers who recorded a 4-1 success against West Essex Reserves with Emmanuel Chukwumah scoring two, Muhammed Camara and Joao Mendes the others.

DIVISION ONE EAST

Dagenham United Reserves found their scoring boots on Saturday with a big 13-0 away win over Romford Town Flyers Reserves. Charlie Landers scored four, Tajay Smith and Phillip Kalwango twice, Luca Baker, Alexandre Santo, Formoso Da Silva, Ramone Reid and Noah Ogunyomi goals completing the scoresheet.

There was a seven-goal thriller in the game at Old Parkonians A where high-flying visitors, Royal Forest, eventually took the points in a 4-3 success, despite Parks goals from Burt Cardy, Jourdane DeCourcy-Nolan and Aaron Leggett.

It took just a single goal to separate the sides in the other game from the division where Loughton Town tasted a rare defeat with FC Alpha returning home with a valuable three points, Denis Musteata’s goal giving them a 1-0 success.

DIVISION ONE WEST

The theme of goals continued as Leyton City were another side to hit thirteen goals in a 13-1 win over Tajik Unity. Bradley Lluhymbher scored three, Joseph Andrews, Melchisedek Kalenga and Borja Quan two each, Louison Kamba, Daniel Ionga, Tony Mpwilu and Archie Andrews with others.

There was just the nine goals in east London as SP United produced a strong home performance over Parsonage Leys to beat them 8-1. Husnain Ahmed scored a hat-trick, Richard Arhin added two, Vincent Clifford, Nana Asante-Bediako and Yacine Kaizra with the others.

Completing the action from the third tier, UK Moldova racked up another win for the season after producing a 5-1 home victory over London Park City. Nicolae Ambroci, Ion Efrem, Vasile Galusca, Oleg Melniciuc and Dumitru Nanii goals enough to take the points.

DIVISION TWO

There were just the two games in Division Two with Lymore Gardens Under 23s producing a strong home performance to take the points in a 4-1 win over CSM London Under 23s, despite a Jahim Stapleton-Payne.

The division’s other contest saw Glendale record another three points as goals form Emmanuel Ejembi, Braulio Costa and Joshua Blake confirmed a 4-2 success over Fairlop rivals, London East.

DIVISION THREE

There was just the one game in Division Three where Buckhurst Way continued a strong start to the season with a 5-0 victory over Cobra. Lenny Steed scored a hat-trick while George Martin and Joseph Steed added the others.

COUNTY CUP

There was just the one success for league sides in the London Junior Cup where FC Baresi Reserves earned a 6-5 shootout win over Escalate Elite after the game had ended 2-2 after ninety minutes.

It was narrow defeat for a  high-flying Hackney Wanderers side who were up against Royal Wells at the Marshes on Saturday and went down by the odd goal in five, 3-2 the final result.

Another side existing at the second round stage are Athletic Newham Under 23s who played host to an Exeter Old Boys side from south of the river, Newham leaving empty handed in a 2-0 defeat.

It was a similar picture for North East Lions who saw their challenge in the county cup reach a conclusion, going down to a 4-2 home defeat against a Worcester Park Under 23s side.

There were away day blues for a couple of league sides, beginning with London Academics who were well beaten following a 7-3 away defeat against AFC South London.

It was a similar day of misfortune for Eastside Foundation who travelled to west London to take on a Grenfell Athletic side, the hosts the side to prevail following a 6-1 result to confirm their place in round three.

Another team to end their run in the competition were Premier Division’s Onyx who saw their run reach an end in fairly comprehensive fashion, going down 11-0 at Peter May against Surrey Intermediate League side Trenham.

ANAGRAMS RECORDS TROPHY

There was a great result for Fairlop Rovers in the first round of the Anagrams Records Trophy, finishing level at 2-2 at full-time against Runwell Sports before progressing in the shootout, 4-3 winners on the day.
