WEEK 5 REVIEW: Round-up of all the EAL league action from the weekend

SENIOR DIVISION
The league leaders, FC Petrocub, moved three points clear at the top of the table over the weekend, making it five wins from five following a 2-0 home success against Sporting Bengal United Reserves. Nicolai Gutu and Ion Spinu struck the goals in the win.
On Friday evening, Waltham Forest Borough had made it three wins and are up into sixth spot, netting both of the game’s goals against Woodford Town Under 23s, Dean Florence and Joshua Lamaswala having founding the back of the net.
Ongar Town sit in second spot and with four wins from their first five games, their latest outing seeing them take all three points on the road with a 4-2 away victory against Fairlop Rovers, Finlay Cook, Max Housden, Ruben Costache and Aaron Stevenson netting the goals.
Moving up into eighth spot at Chadwell Heath Spartans who produced a solid away performance, returning home from Wadham Lodge with all three points after a 3-0 win against Ryan. Brandon Johnson scored two and George Handley the other.
It was a first win of the season for promoted Dagenham United following a strong 6-2 home win against Haringey Borough Reserves. Luke Von Herkomer and Graeme Trevett both scored for Borough but Tajean Lewis’ brace along with strikes from Dasian Clark, Derek Boakye, Yaya Jau and George Martin proved too much in reply.
Also netting their first three points of the new campaign were Kulture who faced another winless side in Frenford Development as they started their contest. Edward Mavakala and Jonah Sarpong both scored for Kulture with Osarodion Omoruyi netting a consolation in a 2-1 scoreline.
There were draws for the sides in the upper echelons, beginning at the Harlow Arena where London Harts United were held to a second draw as CSM London left with a point in a 2-2 draw. Fernandez Magba and Tam Retyi scored for Harts with Ifeanyi Umeh’s double ensuring a share of the spoils.
Over at Parsloes Park, it was a point apiece in the battle of the two promoted sides where Greengate District and Saint City had to settle for a 1-1 draw after a close contest. Lua Silva struck for Greengate with Sandro Pereira’s form continuing with another for City.
PREMIER DIVISION EAST
In the East division, it’s a four way group of teams at the top where Bakers693 joined the early chase following a 2-1 home win against Inter Newbury on Saturday. Halameen Agbaje scored in the Inter goal but that proved not quite enough as Bakers took the win.
Manford Way Reserves’ first outing in the competition saw them net an opening win, producing a strong 4-0 performance away at Athletic Newham Under 23s, goals coming through Tyrell Holder, Rehal Theobalds, Malik Donaldson and Jordan Mullings.
It was a score draw at Oakfield Playing Fields where Bealonians and Kit Out London both continued unbeaten starts, playing out a 1-1 draw to remain in second and fourth places respectively on goal difference. Vaughn Clarke-Williams struck for Beals with Tarik Aciyan scoring for Kit Out.
That same scoreline was reflected just down the road as Something From Nothing opened their new season with a hard fought draw against the league leaders, AS Rapid Londra. Dwaine Hamilton-Taylor’s goal for the hosts was equalled by an Andi Hotoi effort from Rapid.
PREMIER DIVISION WEST
Unitey sit two points clear at the top after the opening couple of weeks, making it two wins from two with a comfortable 5-2 away win against West Essex Reserves. Jayke Welch scored two, Muamar Osman, Mubarak Mohammed and Ahmed Dousa netted the all important goals.
The biggest winners in the division were Vallance who produced their first win of the campaign with a thumping 9-0 win against Stratford East. Jotham Kajerero scored a hat-trick off the bench, Kaywan Khourshid struck two, Mikie Robinson, Terence Mensah, Luke Stewart and Sahaile Allen with the others.
A thriller of a game at Peter May saw North East Lions edge a nine-goal classic 5-4 with Ocean Pacific in their derby contest. Jason Tang scored four of the goals for Lions in a top performance with Jai Perkins striking the other.
Sporting Hackney’s first outing of the new season saw them up against a London Cranes side still searching for their first points and it was the Parrots who left the happier, 3-1 winners courtesy of goals from Kameron Nandoo, Iqbal Sumaila and Amir Abbani. Nicusor Gilca netted the Cranes goal in reply.
It was an opening day success for new boys, Onyx, the Walthamstow based side scoring the game’s only goal against an experienced Priory Park Rangers outfit to move sixth. Andy Adomakoh scored that crucial effort to make it a 1-0 winning start.
The battle between Old Esthameians and Newham Wanderers ended in a score draw, both sides unbeaten, the match finishing 2-2. Henry Gray and Stef Popescu’s goals for E’s were equalled by strikes from Emmanuel Chukwumah and Jamil Gaawo for Wanderers.
DIVISION ONE EAST
In Division One East, the biggest winners of the day were Old Barkabbeyans Reserves as they returned home from Romford Town Flyers Reserves with all three points in a 10-1 victory. Josh Robinson scored a hat-trick, Tyler Turner and Michael Ryder scored twice, Jay Elliott, Tyler Adams-Sinclair and Keenan Lewis with the others.
The early league leaders are Old Parkonians A who have made it two wins from two with a 2-1 home victory against FC Alpha in Barkingside. Jordan Cook scored both of the Parks goals off the bench with Dan Doroftei scoring the Alpha goal in reply.
After a turbulent week, Chadwell Heath Spartans Reserves put their first win on the board with a strong 4-1 home victory against Bealonians Reserves. Brodie Gingell set them on their way with a brace, Usher Kasirye and Emmanuel Ampaabeng with the others, cancelling out Ashley Webster’s effort.
That scoreline was reflected in Debden where Loughton Town’s great start continued, picking up another three points in a 4-1 win against Dagenham United Reserves. Lucas Maxwell, Joseph Arnold, Owen McKelvey and Jack Davey scored the Town goals with Noah Ogunyomi responding for United.
The division’s action concluded at Lakeside where the late kick-off saw Redbridge Community continue an unbeaten start, Lymore Gardens Reserves recording their first point in a 1-1 draw. Cuba Gill scored for Redbridge with Jonnifer Melo striking for Lymore for their goal.
DIVISION ONE WEST
Six teams share the lead in the West division, Saint City Reserves taking all three points in their first outing of the season with a 2-1 win against Changing Lives. Glory Bello and Daoude Cisse scored the all important winning goals, overcoming Agoro Fuad’s effort.
Parsonage Leys’ second outing of the new season saw them take all three points with a thumping 6-0 home win against a Sich London side making their debut. Vladyslav Kyrychenko scored the Sich goal with Bert Greenwood and Dwayne Smith scoring twice each, Leon Arif and Jake Turner netting the others.
Hackney Wanderers first competitive game as a club saw them take on Tajik Unity and a goal apiece from each of Toby Bloomfield and Patrick Machado meant that it was Hackney walking away with the points in a 2-1 win.
Another new side picking up a maiden win as a club were SP United who took all three points in east London after a 4-1 away win against UK Moldova. Richard Arhin scored two, Aidas Jasikevicius and Nana Asante-Bediako scoring the others for the visitors.
DIVISION TWO
Iona Wheels produced the biggest win of the day in Division Two, their 6-0 home victory against Freetown at Parsloes Park seeing them making a winning start. Joshua Gibbins’ brace, plus efforts from Tommy Heneghan, Elliot Hastings, Luke Fearne and Josh Duah were enough for the win.
Following not far behind in the goal scoring stakes were Eastside Foundation who netted their first win as a team, beating Lymore Gardens Under 23s in a 5-0 scoreline. Charlie Biggs was the hero with a hat-trick, Ariyan Raheem and Ryan Taylor with the other goals to complete the scoring.
Kulture Reserves continued their unbeaten start and put a first win on the board with a 5-2 away success over Thurrock Thameside at Lakeside. Moussa Traore scored a hat-trick, Ali Ramazani and Junior Frazao with the others while Matthew Gichuki and Jamie Catania-Masters netted the consolations for Thurrock.
Two more sides continuing unbeaten sides were Chingford Harriers and Glendale who, after draws in opening games, added another point to each’s account in a 1-1 draw. Huai-Ginn Oliver’s opened for Harriers was levelled by a Jelka Tabukanga effort to share the spoils.
Other teams who had to settle for a point each were London Academics and CSM London Under 23s as those sides took their part in an exciting 3-3 draw. Emmanuel Apalata-Mbembe scored twice for the visitors as the teams left with honours even.
DIVISION THREE
There was a seven-goal thriller in Barkingside where Romford Town Flyers A had a Ronnie Challis hat-trick to thank for leaving with all three points in a 4-3 win over Old Parkonians B. Davey Enever scored the other goal with Jack Lewthwaite, Emeka Ezeleu and Danny Hession-Canham scoring in reply.
It was the Dagenham derby in the final game of the day where Cobra and Jays were up against each other at Parsloes Park. Jays were the side leaving the happier, netting a 3-0 win as Harrison Happe-Heatley scored two and Lekan Aina added the other.
