WEEK 36 REVIEW: Round-up of all the EAL league and cup action from the past week

SENIOR DIVISION CUP
The final cup finalist has been confirmed following Wednesday’s replay match-up between FC Petrocub London and Kulture. Alex Awobimpe, Scott Durojaiye, Abdi Ali and Eidanas Pravackas all netted in a 4-3 Kulture win, Dorin Sirbu, Ion Spinu and Pavel Stirbu netting in consolation.
SENIOR DIVISION
Further Wednesday night action in the league saw Lymore Gardens take the title battle into the penultimate weekend, netting a 4-2 away win against Frenford Development despite Beau Samuels’ goal for the hosts.
At Mayesbrook Park, Philip United put themselves on the cusp of the title with a comprehensive 7-1 away win against Waltham Forest Borough. Tamas Retyi’s four goals, two from David Moyo and John Quissua. Andrew Rowe scored for Borough in reply.
Philip United were confirmed as league champions on Saturday afternoon, finishing the job with a 3-1 away win against Fairlop Rovers to surpass the points total they needed to confirm top spot. Many congratulations to all involved on another terrific season.
Lymore Gardens were confirmed as runners-up and passed through a century of goals in an exhilarating 4-4 draw with Chadwell Heath Spartans. Billy Gipp, George Mariner, Ryan O’Connell and Jaiden Buntin scored the Spartan goals to grab their side a point.
Over at Wadham Lodge, Sporting Hackney moved up a place into fourteenth spot in the standings, scoring the game’s only goal against CSM London in a 1-0 scoreline to record a fifth league win of the season.
At the same venue, a five-goal thriller saw Walthamstow Reserves and FC Petrocub London bring down the curtain on their league seasons with the latter being 3-2 winners, finishing the season in eleventh and eighth spots respectively.
Kulture were back at Noak Hill on Saturday with the visit of Frenford Development. It was Frenford Development who took the points in a 3-1 success with Bilal Hussain, Beau Samuels and Faruk Abdullahi netting, Abdi Ali with the consolation.
PREMIER DIVISION EAST
In Premier Division East, FC Baresi Reserves ensured themselves of survival in the second tier, Jesse Eyike’s double enough to earn them a 2-1 away win against Inter Newbury. Fuad Ibrahim struck the Inter goal off the bench.
The same scoreline was reflected in the day’s other game in the division where Redbridge Community produced a winning performance to beat Dagenham United 2-1, despite Yaya Jau’s goal at Lakeside Sports Ground.
PREMIER DIVISION WEST
Champions Sporting Bengal United Reserves made it thirteen wins with one game to go, defeating Vallance in a 3-1 scoreline in Newbury Park. Kashope Akingbade scored for the hosts but that wasn’t enough in the end.
At Parsloes Park, Stratford East’s final game of their maiden season saw them up against London Cranes and the points were shared in a 2-2 draw, Wyclef Kayonjo scoring twice for the visitors.
DIVISION ONE
The big game in Division One saw the battle of the top two where Ocean Pacific forced the title race into the two remaining games after a hard fought 4-2 win against Condor. Condor now need to win their two final games to edge the race for the title.
The other game came from South Park Drive and saw West Essex Reserves take all three points in their penultimate game against Old Barkabbeyans to ensure they are promoted, winning 3-1 despite a Michael Ryder goal for Barks.
DIVISION TWO
It’s congratulations to Royal Forest who wrapped up the Division Two league title on Saturday with an important three points against Old Barkabbeyans Reserves. Tommy Ainsworth and Daniel Thompson scored the goals to seal the title with two games to go.
The promotion race is not yet over and Parsonage Leys currently hold second spot after they recorded a thirteenth league win, beating Glendale in a 4-0 scoreline at Fairlop. Jake Turner scored two, Leon Arif and Jack Payton adding the others.
Chadwell Health Spartans Reserves’ were up against Haringey United at Parsloes Park where Spartans ended 8-2 winners with Connor Hoffman and Abraham Ladoka both scoring two, Niall Bennett, Jordan Shoroye, Carlos Da Silva and Rashid Rubea all netting.
DIVISION THREE
The final game of the day saw champions, IONA Wheels, slip to just a second league defeat of the season as Just Play ended their maiden campaign in fifth spot with a 3-2 win. Elliot Hastings and Jack Stockdale both scored but those efforts were in vain.
