COUNTY CUP
It’s congratulations to Old Parkonians A who took county honours on Saturday afternoon in south west London, a single Harry Baptist goal in the second half enough for them to win the AFA Minor Cup 1-0 against Old Wokingians. Big well done to all involved at Parks for bringing home the silverware!
FENTON CUP
Friday evening saw the second semi-final in the Fenton Cup where Philip United took a lead in the second half before FC Petrocub London levelled it with a thumping free-kick late on to make it 1-1. A shootout was therefore needed and it was Petrocub who won that 5-3 to book a place at Dagenham.
FENTON TROPHY
There was a cracker of a semi-final in Loughton where Royal Forest pulled off a cupset against Division One’s Ocean Pacific. The game ended in a 5-5 draw by the end meaning a shootout was needed here too, Forest winning that 4-3 to take their place at Dagenham in May.
SENIOR DIVISION
Lymore Gardens have moved to within two points of the leaders in the top flight with five games to go, racking up a 4-1 away win against Kulture in north-east London. That result make it nineteen wins for the season for the visitors to continue their quest for the title.
CSM London also produced the goods on the road, taking home all three points in a 4-0 away victory against Frenford Development. Kasalimu Konteh scored twice with Mubaarak Hameed also getting on the scoresheet for win number sixteen.
Seventh placed Chadwell Heath Spartans kept a top five finish alive, netting all three points in a home 4-2 victory against Walthamstow Reserves. Ryan O’Connell and Thomas Callagher were the difference, both scoring twice for Spartans.
Fairlop Rovers have moved a step closer to maintaining their Senior status for another season, producing their ninth league win of the season following a 3-1 home victory against Bakers693 at Fairlop Oak. That result also confirmed Bakers will finish in the bottom four this term.
Over at Ashton Playing Fields, Woodford Town Reserves sit in eighth spot after the weekend’s results, netting win number eleven in a 2-1 home victory against relegated AS Rapid Londra. Bruno Gomes struck both goals for the hosts.
PREMIER DIVISION EAST
Dagenham United have moved to within six points of the leaders in Premier East with three games to go, taking the spoils in their Dagenham derby on Saturday against Barkingside Reserves. Tajean Lewis scored a hat-trick, Dasian Clark and Bryan Henry netting the others in a 5-2 win.
There were ten goals in the game at Lakeside where FC Baresi Reserves earned a vital win in their battle for survival, beating Inter Newbury in a 6-4 scoreline. Melvine Boni was the hero with a hat-trick, Dante Da Palma, Aaron Craig and Gabriel Mazur also on the scoresheet.
Over in Newbury Park, Motormen moved into the top four after a hard fought victory away at Waltham Abbey A. Roy Stevens and Niccolo Marcolini goals were the difference between the teams in the end.
PREMIER DIVISION WEST
Sporting Bengal United Reserves are up into third in the league and now four points away from reaching the top two, taking all three points home from Seven Kings on Saturday after a 4-0 away success against London Park City.
They move above a North East Lions side who were held to a 2-2 draw in their trip to Loughton to take on Unitey. Mubarak Mohammed and Mustafa Mohammed both scored for the hosts with James Codling scoring for Lions in reply.
There were plenty of goals in Newbury Park where Vallance shared a six-goal thriller against Priory Park Rangers to end up 3-3. Michael Oyelami, Alador Fitsum and Brady Landu were all on the scoresheet for Vallance to net a point.
DIVISION ONE
The title race in Division One continues and it was Condor moving up into second spot following a big away win against FC Alpha at Noak Hill. David Agbon and Denis Musteata scored for Alpha with Darius Darie and Liviu Tihon scoring twice each and Eugeniu Sterpu one for the visitors.
It was a point apiece in the other game from the division where Old Esthameians shared the spoils in a 2-2 home draw against Lymore Gardens Under 23s. Henry Gray struck with both goals for E’s, a result which sees them drop to third.
DIVISION TWO CUP
The line-up for the Division Two Cup final is now complete and it will be Old Barkabbeyans Reserves taking the stage in the final after a narrow 3-2 win against Parsonage Leys. Matt Wallace and Leon Arif goals were overcome by a Barks brace from Saifaldin Shangama and Makhily Diaby’s goal.
DIVISION TWO
Dagenham United Reserves made it six wins for the season on Saturday after netting a 2-0 home win against Haringey United at Robert Clack. Tajay Smith and Cain Dash both got on the scoresheet with goals to confirm the win.
It was a single goal game in the other fixture as Saint City Reserves scored the game’s only goal against CSM London Under 23s. Derek Adu came off the bench to score that effort, City 1-0 winners in East Ham.
DIVISION THREE CUP
It was semi-finals day in the Division Three Cup where Chingford Harriers went up against IONA Wheels at Peter May. There was little between the sides as it ended 1-1 through Darlington Ojo and Luke Fearn goals before Wheels held their nerve to win the shootout 4-2 and head into the final.
DIVISION THREE
There were ten goals in the sole league game played which saw Redbridge Community Reserves net themselves a 6-4 home win against London Academics. Despite starting the day with a twenty-five point deficit, it was tenth placed Redbridge who walked away victorious.
