DIVISION ONE

As the season heads towards it’s finale, there were just three matches played over the weekend with one of those in Division One. Lymore Gardens made the journey to Hainault to face an already relegated Melbourne Sports side and returned home with all three points, beating the Mels 6-1 to move up to sixth place in the table with one game to go. Paul Ayul was the Melbourne scorer in consolation.

DIVISION THREE

All eyes in Division Three were on title chasing Haver Town Reserves who needed to win all three games to have a chance of silverware but went a goal down early to Glendale as Valter Correia struck for the Dales. With Haver trailing therefore at the break, a big second half effort was needed and goals from Reece Simpson, Owen Rice and Lee Harris put them ahead. Daniel Mwamba cut the deficit for Glendale from a free-kick but a late Brandon Clarke strike gave Haver a crucial 4-2 win.

The season is heading for an end of season showdown as Haver Town and Royal Forest chase each other for the title. Tower Hamlets’ ambitions of a top two finish have now been extinguished but they will have a huge say in the title still. Hamlets were big winners on Saturday as they romped to a 7-1 half time lead against Custom House United before continuing the scoring in the second half to finish 11-2. That result means that Hamlets can still achieve a third place finish with victories in their four remaining matches.
