FENTON TROPHY
Holders, Chadwell Heath Spartans Reserves, made a strong start to the new year in defence of their trophy, edging a close tie with Leyton City 3-2. Zakariya Ahmed, Kevin Richards and Tariq Gordon-Saude struck with the important goals, rendering Daniel Little and Borja Quan efforts as just consolation.
SENIOR DIVISION
The top flight action commenced on Friday evening as Greengate District entertained a Ryan side in the new year opener at Parsloes, Greengate leaving 3-0 winners through goals from Patrick Enoh-Arhur, Ruben Silva and Emmerson Ndaye.
CSM London are up into third place in the table, closing the gap on the sides above them with a late winner in their contest with Saint City at The Foundry. Tyrell Huggins-Solomons and Daniel Adaakwah scored the goals to take their team to a 2-1 win, Derek Adu with the City goal in reply.
The leaders, London Harts United, saw a couple of dropped points in their away trip to Chadwell Heath Spartans as neither side could be separated in a 1-1 draw. Billy Gipp struck for Spartans with Jerome Humes on target for the visitors.
Another tight game was witnessed in the North Circular derby as Haringey Borough Reserves edged a five-goal thriller with Kulture to win 3-2 with Damanie Campbell, Jadon Anderson and William Gutierrez all on the scoresheet for Borough.
The odd goal in three was enough in the game at Robert Clack where FC Petrocub London left with all three points in a 2-1 victory at Dagenham United where Yusuf Cetin’s goal proved not quite enough. Substitutes David-Stelian Potinteu and Mykhailo Romanets both struck with the winning goals.
Over at Parsloes Park, the close games continued as Sporting Bengal United Reserves racked up important points in a 3-2 home win over Ongar Town. Junayd Subhi, Steven Bohan and Ezekiel Ertl all found the back of the net with William Lockett and Wesley Antonio both netting for Town.
PREMIER DIVISION EAST
Old Barkabbeyans remain top of the Premier Division East as they started their new year with a big 5-1 home victory over Condor at South Park Drive. Thomas Green, Yunus Mussa, Simon Draper, Mohamed Hassan and Jaeden John all netted with Liviu Tihon striking the Condor consolation.
Second place still sits with AS Rapid Londra and they returned with a three points haul, defeating an in-form Motormen side 6-3 courtesy of braces from Costel Nitescu, Cristian Cazacu and Vasile Copilus at Lakeside.
Bealonians will hope to put their games in hand to good effect and they kickstarted that with a strong 3-1 home win over Inter Newbury with Cornelius Wilton-Waddell, Albert Webb and Louie Morales to thank for the goal scoring moments.
Sitting a point further back, Manford Way Reserves are in fourth place after they recorded a narrow 2-1 win away at Romford Town Flyers with Kieran James and Dylan Broadley both on the scoresheet to render Max Setford’s goal as just consolation.
PREMIER DIVISION WEST
A weather-affected division saw just two completed fixtures, firstly a seven-goal thriller at Peter May Sports Centre where Ocean Pacific edged the derby 4-3 against Onyx. Carlos Solis’ hat-trick and a Darwin Orozco goal done the damage, overcoming goals from Ange Mulula, Andy and Gideon Adomakoh.
Just across the North Circular, the other surviving game saw West Essex Reserves put three points on the board with a home win over FC Baresi Reserves where an Archie Flynn goal wasn’t quite enough for the visitors, West ending 2-1 victors.
DIVISION ONE EAST
The goals were flying in Division One East beginning with the big game from the top of the division where Royal Forest came from two down to rescue a draw against Loughton Town for whom Will Osmond had fired in a first half hat-trick, the match eventually ending 3-3.
There were just the nine goals at Westlands where Romford Town Flyers Reserves hopes for a new year resurgence saw them beat Bealonians Reserves, 5-4. Martin Gee’s double plus strikes from Peter Brinton-Quinn, Ronnie Challis and Georgie Edmonds-Jeffries set the pace with Max Robson, Ashley Webster, Joshua McKenna and Iddy Mendbayer scoring for Beals.
It was all three points to Old Parkonians A in the other game from the division as goals from Ben Allen, Jourdance DeCourcy-Nolan and Billy Mason saw them win 3-2 over Dagenham United Reserves, Maxwell Odei and Ibrahim Kamara scoring for the visitors.
DIVISION ONE WEST
The goal scoring feats continued into the West division where Get Rich Together produced a win in a twelve-goal contest, beating Parsonage Leys 7-5. Byron Opeodu struck four and Dwayne Smith one for Leys but Mohammed Malik’s five goals proved crucial, Isiaih Djobega and Oluwatomiwa Roberts adding the gloss.
Up at Mark Hall, it was an eight-goal contest and the spoils shared as Changing Lives and UK Moldova finished 4-4 to take a point each. Agoro Fuad scored two, Ussri Badawi and Oumar Diambo the others for the hosts with Gheorghe Bria, Abdul Mansaray, Dumitru Nanii and Victor Simon responding for the visitors.
DIVISION TWO
There was just the one game completed in Division Two where the Dagenham derby pitched Freetown up against Iona Wheels at Castle Green where Luke Fearne and Henry Allinson goals were just enough for Iona to leave 2-0 winners.
DIVISION THREE CUP
Buckhurst Way have moved to the top of the group in the Division Three Cup, making it six points from two game following a hard fought 1-0 win at Parsloes Park, Joseph Steed scoring the only goal off the bench against Cobra.
On an adjacent pitch, it was three points for Jays in their quest for cup glory, recording a first win of the group stage with a 3-1 victory over Upminster Albion. George Cornwell struck for Albion but two Anthony Bonsu goals and one for Riley Salek-Taghizadeh meant it was the host leaving the happier.
