WEEK 19 REVIEW: Round-up of all the EAL league action from the weekend

FENTON CUP
The first semi-finalists of the season have been confirmed as Inter Newbury’s Fenton Cup run saw them win in the quarter-finals over the weekend, coming from behind to a Leonardo Lopes goal for Romford Town Flyers to win 2-1 through efforts from Kieran O’Mahony and Gabriel Mendoza.
Moving into the quarter-finals were two further sides, firstly at The Drive where Beau Samuels struck twice for Frenford Development but those proved in vain as opponents, Ryan, left with a 3-2 victory and through to the last eight.
That scoreline was reflected in the weekend’s other cup tie where Fairlop Rovers’ first game at the Levels Centre of Excellence proved to be a fruitful one, edging the tie 3-2 against Kulture to send their team through also.
SENIOR DIVISION
The last Friday night action for the calendar year in the Senior took place at Coles Park over the weekend and saw Haringey Borough Reserves share the spoils with Woodford Town Under 23s with the sides finishing 1-1. Oscar Cameron struck for Borough with Joel Oramadike on target for Town.
Leaders, London Harts United, sit eleven points clear at the top of the table as they wrapped up a strong year with a 3-1 home victory against Dagenham United at the Harlow Arena.
An in-form Waltham Forest Borough side sit second and will look to continue their own strong run in the second half of the year, ending 2025 with another three point haul following a 2-0 win over Sporting Bengal United Reserves through Jonas Borges’ brace.
Chadwell Heath Spartans finished off their year by moving to within three points of the top five, netting the odd goal in five with a 3-2 win over third placed Saint City. Billy Gipp, Ryan O’Connell and Brandon Johnson all struck with goals to take the points.
Over at Parsloes Park, CSM London started the day with a two point lead over Greengate District, extending that to five by full time with a 3-1 away success. Fabio Vieria struck for Greengate but Nana Sarfo, Junior Milla and Cyril Pluche goals in reply proved too much in the end.
Three was the theme in another of the games as FC Petrocub London struck three without reply against Ongar Town, moving to within a point of their opponents in the process. Gheorghe Cucos’s brace proved pivotal with Alexandu Strugurean adding the other.
PREMIER DIVISION EAST
The Premier East action started in Friday evening where visitors, Manford Way Reserves, netted five in a 5-2 win against Bakers693 through Umar Ali, Kalum Bama, Kieran James, Jordan Young and Dylan Broadley. Theophilus Lukyamuzi and James Walkinshaw scored for the hosts in reply.
Saturday’s big result came from Barkingside where Bealonians unbeaten start to the season came to an end with Old Barkabbeyans inflicting the damage to stay top of the table. Lucas Jimack came off the bench to score the game’s only goal, Barks leaving 1-0 winners.
There was a win for second placed AS Rapid Londra also as they wrapped up their first half of the season with a 3-2 home victory over Something From Nothing as Vasile Copilus, Andi Hotoi and Claudio Popa goals saw them take the points.
Over in east London, another tight game saw Athletic Newham Under 23s take an early lead in their game against Buckhurst Hill Under 23s, only for Hill to fight back in the second half, scoring a late winner to earn their third win of the season.
In the last game, it was another win for a resurgent Motormen side who continued their climb up the standings with a 2-1 away victory over Condor at Parsloes Park with Vaughan Wrightson scoring both of the goals for the visitors in the game.
PREMIER DIVISION WEST
In the West division, there was just the one game, but that proved to be a topsy-turvy contest also as North East Lions fought back from behind to net late goals in a 4-2 win over London Cranes with Amariah Williams, Jai Perkins, Shaquille Amara and Ishmail Jalloh scoring the goals.
