FENTON CUP

Inter Newbury became the first quarter-finalists of the season on Saturday, completing a 7-2 Fenton Cup win against FC Baresi Reserves. Fuad Ibrahim struck a hat-trick, Kai Wade and Shaquille Ishmael two apiece while Isaac Waren scored both Baresi responses off the bench.

SENIOR DIVISION

The top flight action began on Friday as CSM London produced a strong performance to see off Sporting Bengal United Reserves, winning 5-1 with two Ifeanyi Umeh efforts plus goals from Ashley King, Cyril Pluche and Tyrell Huggins-Solomons. Steven Bohan struck with the Bengal consolation goal.

League leaders, London Harts United, have moved into a four point lead at the top of the table, netting seven in a 7-1 home victory over Kulture at the Harlow Arena. John Quissua’s hat-trick paved the way, Tam Retyi adding two, David Moyo and Issac Sijuade the other scorers.

Greengate District closed the gap on the promotion places to five points, scoring the odd goal in three in a 2-1 win against FC Petrocub London. It was a Silva-lined victory with goals from both Ruben and Lua Silva, Oleh Melnychuk scoring for the hosts in consolation.

The other game from The Drive where Chadwell Heath Spartans kept their hopes going of a push for the top five, netting a 3-1 home victory against Haringey Borough Reserves through two Elie Fanga goals and one from Billy Mucheri, Damanie Campbell scoring Borough’s only goal.

PREMIER DIVISION EAST

There is a new leader in the East as AS Rapid Londra moved a point clear at the top following a 3-1 home victory against Buckhurst Hill Under 23s. Wangel Mvima scored two and Cristian Cazacu one, meaning George Burnham’s goal was just consolation.

That same scoreline was reflected in the game from Westlands as Athletic Newham Under 23s closed the gap on their opponents, Condor, to a single points following a 3-1 victory. Khedir Elias, Emmanuel Etcheri and Esley Liwala all netted for Newham in the win.

PREMIER DIVISION WEST

Newham Wanderers lead the West division by four points following a fifth win in eight games this season so far, beating North East Lions on Saturday. Jamil Gaawo’s brace plus efforts from Emmanuel Chukwumah, Vanadiny Mendes, Robertson Morais and Muhammed Camara proved enough while Jai Perkins struck for Lions in reply.

That same scoreline was reflected by the team keeping closest tracks on the leaders, Vallance running out 6-1 winners against Old Esthameians with Kudus Olowe scoring two, Kaywan Khourshid, Mikie Robinson, Kelvin Gomes and Jotham Kajereo the others – Brad Harris scoring for E’s.

Onyx are sitting in third place in the standings at present, their fourth win of the campaign so far, scoring both goals in a 2-0 home win against Sporting Hackney as Gideon Adomakoh and Georgie Doe both found the back of the net.

Another game with two goals came from Flanders in East Ham as London Cranes were taking on a Priory Park Rangers side, both teams keen for an upturn in their points tallies. It was Cranes who left the happier, scoring both goals in a 2-0 success.

DIVISION ONE EAST

Chadwell Heath Spartans Reserves produced a 14-0 away victory over Romford Town Flyers Reserves with twelve different scorers. Miguel Martins and Abraham Ladoja scored two each with Kevin Richards, Leland Ballie, Francis Akindutire, Usher Kasirye, Jonathan Kazadi, Zakariya Ahmed, Jaiden Buntin, Emmanuel Aworinde, Connor Hoffman and Brodie Gingell scoring the others.

There was a big win also for Bealonians Reserves who scored just the five in a 5-0 home victory against Dagenham United Reserves. David Bryan struck two with Daniel Mahoney and Dale Young goals proving the difference on the day.

That result enabled Old Barkabbeyans Reserves to climb out of the relegation places with a fine 4-2 home win against mid-table Redbridge Community, Michael Ryder netting two, Dre Ferlisi and Shola Shonibare the others for Barks.

A thriller of a game at Parsloes Park saw Lymore Gardens Reserves stave off late pressure from FC Alpha to net a late winner themselves, Gardens taking home the points in a 3-2 win. Liviu Nistreanu and Denis Musteata scored the Alpha goals but those proved in vain in the end.

DIVISION ONE WEST

Leyton City remain as the leaders by a couple of points in Division One West, a seventh win of the season confirmed following a 6-1 victory over Saint City Reserves. Romeo Bwana and Borja Quan scored two each, Kafel Brown and Joel Malundama the others while Dimitar Nedyalkov struck for Saints in reply.

Fourth placed SP United closed the gap on the promotion places with a fine 8-2 home win against Hackney Wanderers. Richard Arhin scored five with Vincent Clifford, Adam Mohammed and Israel Bokoko notching the others while Palmiro Cabo-Verde and Toby Bloomfield struck for Wanderers.

Sich London were also winners by a six-goal margin, taking home all three points in their local derby fixture with London Park City. Vladyslav Kyrychenko and Vasyl Paskar both scored twice with Mykola Krasnoslobodtsev and Valentin Svidruk adding the gloss in a 6-0 scoreline.

Things were somewhat tighter in the two other fixtures, beginning at Northbrooks where Changing Lives were beaten 4-2 against local rivals, Parsonage Leys. Dawod Abakr and Agoro Fuad scored for the hosts but Costa Azzopardi, Leon Bodkin, Dwayne Smith and Jake Turner goals proved too much.

There was a five-goal thriller in the other game from the division where Get Rich Together took home three points after a 3-2 win against UK Moldova as Latrel Louis scored two and Christopher Grant the other to carry their side to a fourth league win.

DIVISION TWO

The big game of the day in Division Two saw the top two meet and it was Iona Wheels who left far the happier from Peter May and in a strong position after a 2-1 win against Chingford Harriers, Joshua Gibbins and Luke Fearne with the Iona goals.

There were plenty of goals in the other games, beginning at Leyton County Ground where Lymore Gardens Under 23s came from behind twice to take all three points, 3-2 winners against Glendale for whom Braulio Costa struck two fine goals.

CSM London Under 23s went on the rampage in a comprehensive 7-0 away victory over London East, a couple of goals each from Jahim Stapleton-Payne and Husainey Sankano leading the way, Moussa Dasilva, Daniel Gomes and Joel Momba netting the others.

There were nine goals in the game at London Academics where the hosts struck four through Jordan Dixon-Walker (2), Vince Cabey and Olajide Oshunfuyi but Kulture Reserves won it 5-4 with goals from Ali Ramazani, Dylan Bonsu, Ezekiel Ertl, Seyed Arfaei and Moussa Traore.

Another five-goal thriller wraps up the action in the division as Thurrock Thameside secured a first win of the season over fellow winless Freetown, netting the odd goal in a 3-2 win at Castle Green to take their points tally onto four.

DIVISION THREE

There was a six-goal thriller at Westlands in the game between Romford Town Flyers A and Cobra as Louis Albon, Ronnie Challis and Alfie Sasse scored for the hosts but Todd Bolger, Blane Barwick and James Mapp goals meant the teams left with a point apiece in a 3-3 draw.

The division’s other contest came from Parsloes Park where a closely fought contest was settled by a single goal with Jays netting themselves a 1-0 home win against Bocas Jogabonito with Mohamed Adam scoring that vital effort for the hosts.

COUNTY CUP

It was BBC Essex Premier Cup weekend and that action kicked off on Friday night as Waltham Forest Borough were one the road, returning to New Lodge to take on a Hutton Under 23s side. Borough were comfortable 6-1 winners in the end to net a place in round three.

There was a win in the competition for Kit Out London who secured their place in the third round of the Premier Cup next month with a 4-2 home victory against Pitsea Athletic.

Also through into the hat for the next round of the competition are Woodford Town Under 23s who overcame fellow league opposition, Fairlop Rovers, 4-0 the final scoreline at Whitbreads to take them safely through.

They are joined in the next round by another league club as Ocean Pacific won their all-EAL battle against Something From Nothing by the odd goal, edging a close contest 3-2 to head on into the third round.

There were a number of narrow defeats, beginning with an extra-time defeat at Mayesbrook Park where last season’s finalists, Frenford Development, saw an end to their run following a 4-2 defeat against Barking Under 23s.

It took extra-time to end Old Barkabbeyans run in the competition against higher-ranked opponents, seeing their game against Arlesford Colne Rangers end at 0-0 before Rangers scored twice in extra time to win it 2-0.

Manford Way Reserves made the long journey down to Southend as they faced Olympian step 7 side, Old Southendian. It was the hosts who left with the win, 3-1 the final scoreline as Manford exited the competition.

A seven-goal thriller at Wadham Lodge pitted Ryan up against a Stanway Rovers Development side making a long trip to east London and it was Stanway who enjoyed their journey home more, 4-3 winners in the game.

Another close game saw Saint City taking on former league side Aveley Under 23s at Flanders and it took five goals to separate the sides with the Millers the team to leave with their tails up, 3-2 winners to progress on.

Ongar Town were up against Essex Senior Reserve League opposition in their tie with a trip to Walthamstow Under 23s ahead of them. Stow were impressive on the day and took a step 7 scalp, 4-1 the scoreline, to put themselves in the hat.

Over at Robert Clack, Dagenham United faced Essex Senior opposition too with an in-form Rayleigh Town Reserves side making the trip down the A127 and leaving with a win, Town 4-2 victors in the game.

Romford Town Flyers saw their run come to an end against step 7 opposition with Sungate their opponents in Hainault. It was ‘Gate, previous winners of the competition, who put in a comprehensive performance, 8-0 winners.

It was defeat on the road for Premier Division side Motormen after their trip to Dagenham to take on May & Baker A proved a fruitless one, going down by the odd goal 2-1 as they exited at the second hurdle.

It was a similar outcome for Bakers693 who headed away from the capital to take on a Basildon Town Reserves side from the Olympian League and left empty handed, Town moving through following a 2-0 home win.

The final tie involving league clubs saw West Essex Reserves see their run each an end on the road, defeat in a 4-1 scoreline at London Marathon with Manford Way the side to see an end to Wests’ cup conquest.

The AFA Intermediate Cup brought about some success for a league club with Old Parkonians A continuing their liking of county competitions, edging a close game with Enfield Old Grammarians Reserves with 3-2 the final scoreline.
