Rainham Working Mens Club sprung the shock of the weekend on Saturday as the bottom of the table side ended the Premier Division leaders, May & Baker EC A’s, perfect record with a 4-1 away win despite a Baker goal from Darren Seymour. That result was enough to lift Rainham off the bottom and into 11th position. Newham Res move up to 5th in the table following a 7-2 away win at Chingford Harriers with Dan Pereira and Benjamin Stone on target for Harriers. Chingford Athletic who are seemingly May & Baker’s closest rivals at present, secured a 3-2 away win at Eastside Rangers to move up to 3rd place with Michael Mignot scoring 2 goals and Tobias Hayden with 1. In the final game Premier Division game of the day, Melbourne Sports hosted near neighbours AAH Romford with defences on top and the game ending goalless.

It was first versus second in Division One as Blue Marlin hosted Vittoriosa Falcons at Barkingside Rec and it was the hosts who ran out winners by 3 goals to 2. St John’s Deaf took full advantage of Vittoriosa Falcons’ slip up to move up to second in the table with a 9-2 home win against Glendale, with Kadeem Francis scoring both goals for the Dales. London Bari Res got back to winning ways with a 3-1 win against Chingford Town Res to move them back up 4th in the table courtesy of strikes from Jonathan Atkins, Jonatan Mosibe and Romeo Lopez with Ryan Folan netting in reply for Town. Three Colts recent good run of form continued with a 2-0 win at Lord Nelson taking them up to 6th place.

In Division Two, Grove United hosted leaders Leyton Green and knocked their opponents off top spot with a 2-1 win. Goals from Jayson McLeod and Harry Chalk were enough to bag maximum points with Samin Samali replying with a consolation goal for Green. West Essex Res remain the only unbeaten side in the division following a goal-filled 7-3 win at St Francis Res. Adam Norris bagged a hat-trick along with a Jack McQuibban double and singles from Harry Finch and Otis Gatehouse cancelling out Saints’ goals from Marcel Byfield (2) and Damien Williams.
