FENTON CUP

There were just two cup ties played over the weekend, one of which saw second round action in the Fenton Cup as Dagenham United took on an Inter Newbury side at Robert Clack. Kenny Arda scored the Inter goal but Dagenham also scored to level the tie before the visitors held their nerve in the shootout to win that 4-2. Inter head on to face Sporting Bengal in the last sixteen.

SENIOR DIVISION

On Friday evening, there were two goal-fests in the Senior Division, beginning at Parsloes Park where hosts Waltham Forest Borough had a night to forget, falling to a 9-1 defeat against an in-form Haringey Borough Under 23s. Louis Maffia and Sertan Kirman scored twice each, Oliwier Fusiek, Kevin Akpoedafe, Jorge Casaneda and Akiljo Balliu netting the others for the visitors, rendering Steven Wade’s goal as consolation.

Over at Oakside, it was another game for a visiting side as Chadwell Heath Spartans produced one of their results of the season in beating Lymore Gardens on their own patch. Dylan Roberts struck with the Lymore goal but Spartan efforts from Billy Gipp, Brandon Johnson, Peter Adeleye, Harry Goodwin and Ryan O’Connell meant it was them who walked away 5-1 winners.

The Saturday afternoon action saw Frenford Development retain their spot at the top of the table by a point as they came away with a comfortable 4-0 win from north London, defeating Kulture to retain the leadership. Faruk Abdullahi scored twice with Bilal Hussain and Tyler Shillingford adding the others.

There was victory for the second placed side CSM London who trail by that solitary point with a game in hand, their cause aided on Saturday through a narrow 2-1 win at home against Woodford Town Reserves in Dagenham. Luke McElroy and Dylan Flynn struck for the hosts, overcoming Louie Cooper’s goal for Town.

The biggest scoreline of the day came from Noak Hill where FC Petrocub London went into their eleventh game of the season, hosting a Bakers693 side who sit without a point so far this season, twelve points adrift of safety. This one went with the form guide, FC Petrocub racking up a comprehensive 14-1 win to move up into tenth place.

Third placed Philip United had a good afternoon, opening up a four point gap on the sides below them after cruising to a ninth win of the season, beating Fairlop Rovers in a 4-1 scoreline at Parsloes Park. Erick Kenko, Joshua Wisdom, Raj Palit and Dee Okojie all struck for the hosts to keep them in touch with the sides above them.

It was a vital result for Sporting Hackney in matters affecting the other end of the table, their trip to Ongar Town on Saturday proving to be a fruitful one, the Parrots flying away with all three points in a 4-2 success in Harlow. Scout Bown scored twice for the hosts but those efforts proved in vain in the end as the east London side prevailed.

Over at Wadham Lodge, two further sides floating in and around the danger zone towards the bottom end of the table were Walthamstow Reserves in eleventh and AS Rapid Londra in fifteenth, starting the day eight points apart. That gap remained by the end as the game ended in a 1-1 draw with Vlad Bucur’s goal for Rapid putting them eight points from safety.

PREMIER DIVISION EAST

In Premier Division East, there’s a new leader at the top of the standings as Barkingside Reserves took top spot after an important 4-2 away win against Romford Town Flyers at Westlands. A goal apiece from Christos Mead and Ibrahima Sow for Romford proved not quite enough in the end, ‘Side scoring four of their own.

There was an important win also for previously winless Something From Nothing who successfully procured their first points of the campaign with an away victory against FC Baresi Reserves in the early game at Lakeside. Ikenna Ogazi and Junior Likosso both struck for SFN, overcoming Rui Monteiro-Da-Costa’s goal for the hosts in a 2-1 result.

At Parsloes Park, hosts Kit Out London started the day with a two point lead over their opponents, Redbridge Community. In a game where there was little separate the sides, it ended therefore in a 1-1 draw by the end with Charles Ariwa scoring for the hosts and Adil Raman netting for Redbridge.

The fourth and final game from the division came from Fairlop Oak where Motormen were the hosts to a Greengate District side, the latter sitting four points ahead of the hosts at the start of the game. And that was the way it stayed as neither defence could be breached, the game ending in a 0-0 draw to share the spoils.

PREMIER DIVISION WEST

Saint City lead the way in Premier Division West by six points still after the weekend’s results, City moving to a sixth win of the season on Saturday following a 3-1 home win against Unitey in East Ham. Ahmed Dousa scored for Unitey but City goals from Jayke Welch, Richard Boah and Liam Adams meant it was their side taking the win.

Newham Wanderers sit as the closest challengers in second, turning their fortunes after a sticky spell to net a fourth win of the season, defeating London Cranes in a nine-goal thriller. Dennis Mahadha scored twice for Cranes, Wyclef Kayonjo and Matthew Mugisha adding the others but Wanderers’ own five goals confirmed the points heading home with them.

Ilia Siaka, Shaquille Amara and James Codling all found the back of the net for the hosts to move to nine points for the season.

DIVISION ONE

It’s as you were at the top of Division One where Ocean Pacific remain leaders in the division after eight games of the season, picking up win number seven from a five-goal away thriller against FC Alpha in Noak Hill. Denis Musteata scored twice for the hosts but those goals were just consolation in the end as Ocean took a 3-2.

Sitting in second place, Old Esthameians will be pleased with their efforts at the start of the season and added another win to their accounts, beating third placed West Essex Reserves in a 3-1 scoreline at Wadham Lodge. Harland Taylor scored twice for E’s and Brad Harris added the other to make it six wins in seven.

Over at Castle Green, there was a Dagenham derby match between hosts Freetown and Condor who made the short trip down Lodge Avenue. The visitors began the day with a six point lead over their hosts but had extended that to nine by the end, Condor winning the game 3-0 to move up into fourth spot in the table.

Completing the action from the division, the final league game saw Lymore Gardens Under 23s involved in the late kick-off against Old Barkabbeyans at Parsloes Park. Lymore started the day without a point but earned themselves a share of the spoils in a 4-4 draw. Joshua Robinson scored twice for Barks with Dylan Nunes and Michael Ryder also on target with the others.

DIVISION TWO

There were three close games in Division Two including a big result towards the top of the table where Parsonage Leys moved to a fifth league win of the season, defeating Old Barkabbeyans Reserves in a 2-1 win at Grange Paddocks. There was a first league win of the season for Dagenham United Reserves who moved up into eighth place in the table after completing a 2-0 away victory against CSM London Under 23s in Newbury Park. Charlie Landers and Renato Molaudzi scored the all important goals to hand their side a first win.

DIVISION THREE

IONA Wheels remain as league leaders in Division Three and sit three points clear at the top after a 4-0 away win on Saturday against London Academics which saw them remain unbeaten. Kai Geere, Jack Stockdale, Lewis Deacon and Josh Allen were the players finding the back of the net at the Marshes.

Moving up into fifth spot are Chingford Harriers as they prevailed by the odd goal to earn win number three this term, defeating fourth placed Romford Town Flyers Reserves in a 3-2 scoreline. J-Neiko St Leo, Andrew Bowring and Huai-Ginn Oliver were the scorers who made the difference in the game for Harriers.
