FENTON CUP

There was a bit of a cupset in the Fenton Cup as Premier Division East leaders, Bealonians, saw their unbeaten start come to end with a 2-1 defeat at eleventh placed Inter Newbury. Tyrell Spencer scored two for Inter with Dan King scoring Beals’ consolation.

Also at Parsloes Park, Condor were up against pitch co-tenants Greengate District in second round action and it was the Senior side who showed their class with a 4-0 win courtesy of two goals from Ruben Silva and one from Nicholas Baginski.

FENTON TROPHY

The biggest shock in the Trophy saw CSM London Under 23s take a Division One scalp, taking UK Moldova to penalties after a 2-2 draw before winning the shootout 5-4. Emmanuel Apalata-Mbembe and Muhammad Khan scored for CSM with Oleg Melniciuc and Dan Zamsa responding for Moldova.

There was a near-miss for Old Parkonians A who secured their place with a hard fought 2-1 win over Glendale at Fairlop, Archie Fisher and Charlie Fiander goals enough to render Wasiu Lawal’s effort as consolation.

London Academics bounced back to some winning form as they overcame Lymore Gardens Under 23s in a 5-2 scoreline, Archangelo Burton and Jordan Dixon-Walker both scoring twice and Bryan Ntueba the other.

FC Alpha are also through into the next round following a 5-3 victory over fellow Division One level side SP United. Seghei Scupoi scored two, Igor Marmulat, Caganovschi Victor and Denis Musteata goals enough in the end, despite Vincent Clifford’s brace and a Husnain Ahmed effort.

Division One’s high-flying Royal Forest continued their winning ways in the cup with a strong 4-1 home victory against Changing Lives, Ismail Aziz’s goal proving not quite enough in the end for the visitors.

SENIOR DIVISION CUP

A busy week of Senior Cup action started last Monday evening as Waltham Forest Borough confirm a place in the quarter-finals after a 3-0 win over Dagenham United with Dylan Florence, Ulughbek Rasuli and Mustafa Hussain goals proving enough.

On Wednesday evening, last season’s semi-finalists, FC Petrocub London saw an early lead through Ion Spinu but Frenford Development goals from Michael Clayman and James Ikotun meant the visitors went through 2-1 winners.

That same scoreline was reflected in Thursday night’s showdown between Ryan and Ongar Town where Yuki Edogiawerie’s strike for Town helped his side win 2-1, overcoming Suhayb Aftab’s strike for Ryan.

SENIOR DIVISION

Friday evening saw a game between two of the top sides in the Senior Division and it was Waltham Forest Borough who continued their strong form, beating FC Petrocub with the odd goal enough for the win, Dean Florence netting for the hosts.

On Saturday afternoon, Frenford Development’s upturn in form saw them win for a second time in four days, defeating Dagenham United in a 3-1 scoreline with Khari Pobi netting two and Beau Samuels the other, Yaya Jau scoring in reply.

London Harts United returned to the top of the table with a big 7-1 home win over Sporting Bengal United Reserves. David Moyo and Michael Olatunji both scored two, John Quissua, Isaac Sijuade and Anthony Ralenekov with the others while Steven Bohan scored for Bengal in reply.

Second placed Ongar Town sit just a point off the leaders from a game more, producing a second win in three days, this time earning all three points from a trip to Woodford Town Under 23s as George Pugh and Max Galati goals made it 2-0 by the end.

There was a big result for Fairlop Rovers too in the race to avoid the drop, Rovers taking all three points in a big 6-3 win, their first of the season, away at Ryan as Billy Barr scored five goals and Freddie Bose netted the other.

It was also a big performance at Flanders from Haringey Borough Reserves who were up against a high-flying Saint City side but managed to leave 3-1 winners as Abdul Bangura’s brace and Damanie Campbell’s goal overcame Richard Boah’s goal for City.

PREMIER DIVISION EAST

The biggest winners of the day in Premier East were Old Barkabbeyans who saw the visit of Something From Nothing to South Park Drive, the hosts leaving the happier of the two teams after a 3-0 home win.

There were dropped points from teams in second and third, firstly as Manford Way Reserves were held to a rare scoreless draw in their home fixture against Romford Town Flyers at Fairlop Oak.

Mid-table Athletic Newham Under 23s also earned a strong point against promotion chasing side, AS Rapid Londra, that game ending in a 1-1 draw despite Andrei Boga’s goal for Rapid.

There was a first win of the season for Buckhurst Hill Under 23s who moved onto three points following a hard fought 2-1 away win over Bakers693, aided by a goal apiece from Jason Balde and Johnny Bristow.

That same scorelines was reflected in the final game from the division which saw Kit Out London take all three points home from their game against Motormen, 2-1 winners through goals from Mauro Leal and Emmanuel Manu-Gyamfi, Solomon Sharpe scoring the hosts’ consolation.

PREMIER DIVISION WEST

Unbeaten Newham Wanderers reasserted their promotion credentials with a thumping 9-2 home victory against Onyx. Henrique Mendes and Mussa Jamanca netted two with Emmanuel Chukwumah, Jamil Gaawo, Joao Mendes, Robertson Morais and Muhammed Camara also netting, Mason Young and Elior Anebo scoring for Onyx.

It was matters shared between second and third placed Vallance and West Essex Reserves, 3-3 the final scoreline as Kudus Olowe’s brace and Sahaile Allen’s goal was equalled by two Martas Paplauskas efforts for West and a Luey Young goal.

North East Lions sit eighth in the table and closing on the mid-table sides above following a strong 4-1 away win over bottom side Priory Park Rangers. Jai Perkins scored two with Shaquille Amara and James Codling netting the others.

There was a second league victory of the season for promoted Ocean Pacific who had home advantage against a visiting Old Esthameians side, the hosts ending the day far the happier after a 5-1 Ocean win.

It took just a single goal to separate the sides in the other game from the division where Angel Angelov’s effort off the bench for FC Baresi Reserves earned them a vital 1-0 success against Sporting Hackney.

DIVISION ONE EAST

Loughton Town remain three points clear in Division One West as their seventh league win in nine so far saw them record a 3-1 away victory over Chadwell Heath Spartans Reserves, Will Osmond scoring two and Charlie Hurlock one. Tariq Gordon-Saude scored the Spartans goal in reply.

The other game in the East division saw a five-goal thriller at Robert Clack as Dagenham United Reserves netted all three points in a 3-2 win over Lymore Gardens Reserves, Cain Dash scoring twice and Tajay Smith once.

DIVISION ONE WEST

Leyton City are the leaders in Division One West and made it six wins from seven so far this season following a 3-1 win against Sich London. Bohdan Rodych scored for the visitors but City goals from Romeo Bwana, Borja Quan and Awal Lawal were too much.

The biggest winners in the division were second placed Parsonage Leys, scoring six without reply over a visiting Tajik Unity side to sit two points off the lead. Costa Azzopardi and Dwayne Smith both scored two, Byron Opeodu and Leon Bodkin the others.

Get Rich Together have made a decent start and sit in sixth place following a third win on Saturday, netting all three points in a 2-0 away win over third placed Saint City Reserves with Oluwatomiwa Roberts and Latrel Louis scoring the goals.

DIVISION TWO

It’s Iona Wheels still setting the pace in Division Two and they racked up another three point haul following a successful trip to Thurrock Thameside. 5-2 was the final scoreline with Luke Fearne scoring two, Jack Stockdale, Luke Woodgate and Ross Cosson the others.

Chingford Harriers are certainly keeping up the pace with the leaders and put another win of their own on the board following a narrow 3-2 away win over Eastside Foundation as Dan Linford, Imran Sobratty and Regan Marshall scored the goals.

At the same ground, London East bounced back to winning ways this week in producing a strong 3-1 home winning performance against Freetown through two Abdelghani Khaldoun goals and one for Jayden Barrow.

DIVISION THREE

Just a point separates the top four sides in Division Three with Old Parkonians B joining that grouping following a big 4-1 home win against second placed Jays. Lekan Aina scored for Jays but two Emeke Ezeleu strikes for Parks and one each from Aaron Campbell and Ali Hassan were too much.

Romford Town Flyers A are another side part of that promotion conversation as they produced a 5-2 away day win over Bocas Jogabonito, helped by a couple of goals each from Alfie Bennett and Keaton Russell, Grant Obeney adding the other.

There was a second league win of the season for Upminster Albion who moved to seven points following a 3-0 win against Cobra at Parsloes Park. George Cornwell scored two with Oliver Cornwell adding the other for Albion.

COUNTY CUP

The all-EAL Senior Division clash in the BBC Essex Premier Cup second round tie on Saturday saw Kulture produce a stunning fightback from two down to beat CSM London 4-2 late on and send themselves through.

It was away day blues for the league’s other representatives on the day as Unitey’s trip down the A127 proved a fruitless one, seeing their participation in the county’s top competition reach a close following a 2-0 defeat against Toby.
