FENTON CUP

The weekend's Fenton Cup action saw two Senior Division sides squeeze through into the third round of the competition, beginning at Lakeside Sports Ground where Walthamstow Reserves' were up against a Redbridge Community side doing well in the Premier Division. It took the odd goal in seven to eventually seperate the sides, Stow overcoming two Redbridge goals from Frankie Francis and one from Jordi Riaco in a 4-3 scoreline.

There was a similarly tight encounter between Senior and Premier sides in the game at The Drive where Chadwell Heath Spartans renewed acquantancies with Priory Park Rangers on Saturday having faced each other last season in the league. It was Spartans who edged their way through on the day through goals from Jason Thanni and Thomas Callagher, those enough to see the hosts win 2-1 and head through.

FENTON TROPHY

There was a cupset in the Fenton Trophy with a Division Two side triumphing over higher ranked opposition as Dagenham United Reserves came out on the right side of a seven goal thriller against Division One's Condor to move into the third round. Yusef Cetin, Xhejson Paqa, Derek Boakye and Yaya Jau all struck the back of net for Dagenham as they won 4-3 at Mayesbrook Park.

Over in east London, there was an all Division Two match-up at the Marshes where Haringey United were up against an in-form Saint CIty Reserves side in their second round clash. Jermaine Da Costa got himselve on the scoresheet for the hosts but Saints had too much in attack and ran away to win the game 6-1 by full-time to head through.

SENIOR DIVISION

In the top flight on Friday evening, there were two important games involving sides in the upper reaches of the division, beginning at Coles Park where Haringey Borough Under 23s were up against former tenants, Lymore Gardens, with both keen on extending their points tallies. Mohamed Keita struck twice for Borough but Lymore goals from Johneli Lungikisa and Billy Barr meant the spoils were shared at 2-2.

Over in Dagenham, CSM London were in action at Parsloes Park with the visit of an Ongar Town who, between the two sides, had just three defeats to their name so far heading into the game.  There were just two goals in a close game as Ramiz Mahmood with both for his CSM side to lead them to a 2-0 win and all three points, their ninth success of the campaign.

On Saturday afternoon, Frenford Development returned back to the top of hte table with their own ninth win of the season, producing a comfortable looking 5-0 win on the road with victory against AS Rapid Londra at Lakeside Sports Ground. Bilal Hussain scored twice with Keenan Gravillis, Tyler Shillingford and Shanlon Thomas also netting in the win.

At Fairlop Oak, there was a game from the bottom half of the table as Waltham Forest Borough made the trip across to Hainault to take on Fairlop Rovers. Borough started the day six points behind Rovers but reduced that to just three, winning 3-1 through goals from Dean Florence, Dylan Florence and Jacob Melford.

It was third versus fifth in one of the other games to take place where Philip United's trip to Ashton Playing Fields saw them up against Woodford Town Reserves, starting the day a point ahead of their opponents. It was another win for Philip however as they moved third with an eighth league success, 3-0 winners to stay in touch with the sides above them.

The remaining action came from Wadham Lodge where it was hosts Sporting Hackney in home action with the visit of an FC Petrocub London side, the teams seperated by four points as the game got underway. There was little between the sides on the day as the game ended level at 1-1, the two teams having to share the spoils.

PREMIER DIVISION EAST

There were four games in the East division, with three sides now sharing the lead at the top on thirteen points as Barkingside Reserves earned another win to move to a fourth success of the season, beating Motormen in a 4-2 result at Parsloes Park. That result sees 'Side trail the leaders by just a goal but from one game more also.

Also sitting level on points at the top are Romford Town Flyers who picked up a point in a home contest with Kit Out London at Westlands. It was a case of defence reigning supreme over attack with the game ending in a rare 0-0 draw, both sides taking a share of the spoils.

Just a couple of points behind that leading pack are Greengate District who are up into fourth place on the back of a third league success of the season, beating Something From Nothing in a 4-0 scoreline at Noak Hill. Ruben Silva and Edilson Cruz were both on the scoresheet for the hosts in their victory, while SFN continue to search for their first points.

Over at Parsloes Park, there was a close encounter between hosts Waltham Abbey A and their counterparts from FC Baresi Reserves in a game in which the visitors got themselves into a two goal lead through goals from Ronnie Karayianni, Omari Williams and Filippo Locascio. But the Abbotts forced their way back into the game to take a point, levelling it up at 3-3 by full-time.

PREMIER DIVISION WEST

The big game from the West division came from the very top of the table as leaders Saint City went up against second placed Newham Wanderers at Royal Docks. Emmanuel Chukwumah grabbed a goal for Wanderers but a City goals from Noah Chesmain and Alberto Jalo turned the game in favour of their sides, Saint City walking away 2-1 winners to move six points clear at the summit.

Another key game from the division came from Newbury Park where an unbeaten Sporting Bengal United Reserves side were up against London Cranes with both sides starting on six points at kick-off. Mehrojidin Muzafarov got himself a goal for Bengal but Cranes goals from Wyclef Kayonjo and Rashid Nsubuga meant that it was the visitors who left 2-1 victors.

The other game from the division came from Loughton where Stratford East were the visitors to take on a Unitey side who sat just a point ahead of them at the beginning of the game. But Ahmed Dousa's brace and a Joel Mputu goal for Unitey proved too much on the day with Joseph-Rene Opoku scoring the Stratford goal in reply, the match ending 4-1 to the hosts.

DIVISION ONE

In Division One, the biggest winners of the day were FC Alpha who earned themselves just a second win as a club following a big home win against Freetown at Noak Hill. A goal apiece from Eugeniu Fluieraru, Dan Doroftei, Alexandru Petcu, Liviu Nistreanu, Ahmad Attahir and Denis Musteata all found the back of the net for their side, moving four points clear of their opponents.

The league leaders, Ocean Pacific, remain clear at the top by four points but did drop their first points of the season as they were held to a 2-2 score draw at home against Loughton Town. The two sides couldn't be seperated by the end of the game to share the spoils, that poing seeing Town move up a place into seventh spot.

Old Esthameians remain the side closest to the leaders, sitting second on goal difference with five wins from their opening six games, their latest victory seeing them return home from Dagenham with all three points in a 2-0 away success against Lymore Gardens Under 23s. Brad Harris and Ibrahim Sidibe scored the all important goals to keep them well in the mix.

There was a seven-goal thriller in the other game from the division as West Essex Reserves took home maximum points from their east London derby, beating Leyton City in a 4-3 scoreline. Jonas Likalu scored twice and Sterlange Nzeza grabbed the other for City but those proved not quite enough in the end, that win for West keeping them in third spot on goal difference.

DIVISION TWO

There were goals aplenty in Division Two, beginning at Parsloes Park as Chadwell Heath Spartans Reserves took on Glendale. A fairly even start was undone with a rush of Spartan goals as Owen Rami scored two, Jamie Pooley. Connor Hoffman, Brodie Gingell, Brandon Johnson and Freddie Abeka scoring the others in a 7-1 win. Braulio Costa scored the Dales goal in consolation.

The other game involving sides from the top end of the table was Royal Forest's trip up the M11 as they took on a Parsonage Leys side also involved in the promotion mix. The hosts started the day three points behind Forest but ended it level on twelve points each after Parsonage carried themselves to a fourth win of the season, 5-2 the scoreline.

That scoreline was mirrored in the other game from the division where Ongar Town Reserves were in action with CSM London Under 23s the visitors to Mark Hall as both sides sought to move clear of the bottom. Rami Hamdouche was the key difference between the teams, scoring four of Ongar's goals, Jordan King netting the other, overcoming Byron Opeodu's brace for CSM.

DIVISION THREE

In Division Three, it remains tight at the top as Changing Lives moved level on goal difference, leap frogging above their opponents from Saturday, Romford Town Flyers Reserves. Alfie Sasse struck with the Romford goal but visitor goals from each of Andrews Ohene-Poku and Agoro Fuad meant that it was Lives who won the game 2-1 to stay unbeaten.

That result also enabled Just Play to make up ground on the sides in the top two, earning their fourth win of the season on Saturday after a 7-0 win at home against Cobra. That result took them up to twelve points so far while Cobra sit in ninth with five points to their name.

Over at Peter May Sports Centre, the final league action of the weekend, Chingford Harriers were hosts to a Redbridge Community Reserves side with Harriers beginning the day with a two point lead over their opponents. That was extended to five by the end with Harriers running out 5-2 winners. Goals from Connor Bailey, J-Neiko St Leo, Andrew Bowring, Regan Marshall and Huai-Ginn Oliver accounted for the goals.

COUNTY CUP

In the London Cup, London Academics saw their run in the Junior Cup come to an end as they tasted defeat by the odd goal against south London based Langley Sports, exiting the competition 3-2 on the day.

North East Lions made their way through into the third round however, picking up a big 5-1 home win against Athenians on Saturday to make their way into the hat for the next round.

There was also a victory for Old Parkonians A in the AFA Minor Cup as they came out on the right side of a win against Old Garchonians, winning 4-2 to book their place in the third round of the competition next month.
