It is with a heavy heart that we have to report the tragic passing of Haver Town player, Jack Phillips, who passed away last week following an accident.

Jack was an important member of the highly successful Haver Town Reserves side last season, securing a league and cup double with his team mates. A highly respected player, Jack wore his heart on his sleeve as the driving force of his team and was a true gentleman on and off the field, as depicted by so many splendid tributes that have flowed in since the sad news broke.

As well as playing for Haver Town, Jack's footballing career also saw him play for, amongst others, Coral, Eva Hart, Belfry and for Barkingside Reserves most recently, joining up with his manager, Steve Ince, once again.

The Essex Alliance League sends it thoughts and prayers to everybody that knew Jack - friends, family, colleagues and, of course, teammates. As a mark of respect, the league kindly ask all member clubs to observe a minutes silence at their upcoming fixture.

A true loss to Essex football. RIP Jack.
