FENTON CUP

Last season’s finalists, Chadwell Heath Spartans, secured safe passage into round two of the Fenton Cup as they scored both in a 2-0 home win over AS Rapid Londra with Billy Mucheri and Drey Johnson netting.

Also through are Bealonians although they had to overcome a tough Priory Park Rangers side on penalties after the sides had finished level at 2-2 with Darren Kemoi and Alfie Wallis striking for Rangers, Cornelius Wilton-Waddell and Joe O’Grady netting for Beals.

There was a seven goal thriller in the other tie from the weekend where West Essex Reserves eventually prevailed by the odd goal in a 4-3 win against North East Lions, despite Isaiah Gachette, Dylan Mohammad and Shane Thomas.

FENTON TROPHY

There were a number of cupsets in the Fenton Trophy with Romford Town Flyers B ending Kulture Under 21s’ winning start in the division above, 6-4 the final scoreline. Mason Demuth scored a hat-trick, George Stevens and Alex Tonu the other while Kyrell John, Nassir Said, Callum Kealy-Johnson and Altan Aydin struck in consolation.

It was also an impressive performance from Division Three’s Chigwell who edged out a side from two divisions above in the shape of UK Moldova with Blake Butwell, Sidney Kaye, Cameron Pigny and Les Sampson scoring in a 4-3 win.

A similar feat was completed by Barking Blues who also saw off a Division One side following their 2-1 home victory against London East, aided by a goal apiece from Kii Jean-Baptiste and Jonathan Wallace.

Things were more routine for London Cranes who took on Newhall Rangers and left with a place in the next round, 5-2 winners with braces from Mujeeb Kaddu and Valentine Ngaham, Derrick Katende with the other. Alfie Parker and Hadley Waterman scored for Newhall in reply.

Lymore Gardens Reserves are also through into the hat for the second round as they travelled to Ockendon to take on Thurrock Thameside and left with the win, edging the tie 2-1 to progress on.

Another close game came from West Ham where IMOPE were hosting a St Portland Sau side from two divisions above and the latter had two Jacky Ouattara goals to thank for their 3-2 success, overcoming Cody O’Brien and Berthol Penka goals for the hosts.

Jays moved back to winning ways this weekend with a strong 4-1 victory in the Dagenham derby, defeating Cobra with the help of two Mohamed Adam goals plus one each from Cain Dash and Aman Lynch-Stewart. Joe Smith struck for Cobra for their goal.

The final game from the competition saw last season’s finalists, FC Alpha, take on East London Phoenix with the sides finishing level at 2-2 with Gheorghe Cucos scoring two and Igor Mamulat one. But it was Phoenix was rose from the shootout to win that 5-4.

SENIOR DIVISION

On Friday night, there was an exciting local derby as Greengate District shared the points in a 3-3 draw with Waltham Forest Borough. Joshua Samuels, Richie Danquah and Lloyd Asamoah scored for ‘Gate with Luke Dimond, Louie Cooper and Mustafa Hussein striking for Borough.

The leaders were in action on Saturday with Kulture moving three points clear at the summit after a 4-0 home win over Wadham Lodge co-tenants, Ryan. Henley Wheeler, Almir Bullaku and Mohamud Kaudeer struck with the goals to give them the win.

Moving up into second place are CSM London as their first outing at the Terrance McMillan saw them beat Vallance 3-2, with Tyrell Huggins-Solomons scoring twice and Kane Huggins-Solomons the other. Oscar Harris and Michael Ogunbo struck with the consolation goals in reply.

Old Barkabbeyans moved up into the top five in the standings as their home clash with Ongar Town saw them net the only goal in a 1-0 success with Michael Ryder’s strike proving the difference on the day.

There was a big win for Newham Wanderers in their game from Flanders, leaving with all three points from their clash with Saint City. Richard Seixas struck for the hosts but Emmanuel Chukwumah’s double plus goals from Robertson Morais and George Young were enough for Wanderers.

Sporting Bengal United Reserves and FC Petrocub London combined for eight goals in their game from Parsloes Park with Igor Boiciuc (2), Grigorii Ungurianu, Valentin Para and Cristian Midrigan all netting in a 5-3 win for the visitors, Ezekiel Ertl’s hat-trick proving just consolation.

It was a good afternoon for Fairlop Rovers in their game from Broadfields, putting a stop to Barkingside’s winning run in a 2-0 home victory, a result which lifts them up a number of places and into eighth spot.

PREMIER DIVISION EAST

There was just the one game in the East where Condor were in local derby action with the visit of Athletico Redbridge to Parsloes and it was Darius Darie, Ciocoi Grigore, Mihai Bozianu and Maxim Volosin all net in a 4-2 win.

PREMIER DIVISION WEST

Over in the West division, Waltham Athletic took advantage of results around them to move top of the table, winning 2-0 at home to FC Baresi Reserves through a goal apiece from Ibrahim Aboukar and Jayden Hocking-Rising.

Sporting Hackney are sitting second in the table following the weekend although they were held to a 2-2 draw against Hackney Wanderers with Emmanuel Fesseha and Daniel Matthew goals equalled by Toby Bloomfield and Kevin Ngimbi strikes.

ACE 05 have climbed the table into fourth spot as they recorded a second win in six this term, defeating Onyx in a 3-2 win in Newbury Park. Arthur Wright scored two and Alysson Paulo once in the win.

Over in Loughton, the two sides couldn’t be separated in ninety minutes with Royal Forest and Jolof Sports ending level at 2-2 to take home a point each, Miles Peterkin striking twice for the hosts.

DIVISION ONE EAST

There were plenty of goals at Mayfield Leisure Centre on Saturday as visitors, Eastside Foundation, earned a 5-4 win over Ekota. Jahmel Brady scored two, Grant Eagle, Bailey Childs and Marteen Usman adding the others while Yasin Rahman struck twice in reply, Tapiwanashe Kapumha and Kahien Frazer with the others for the hosts.

Frenford Development were in goal scoring form as they racked up a 6-2 away win against Romford Town Flyers Reserves with Kristen Caynes, Kearon Caynes, Samuel O’Loughlin, Zishan Amin and Lucas Coltelli finding the back of the net. Grant Obeney and Kyle Constable scored Town’s efforts.

It was a rather more sedate affair from the division’s other clash where a single goal was enough to move Old Barkabbeyans Reserves back to the top of the table as Xhejson Paqa struck in a 1-0 win over Loughton Town.

DIVISION ONE WEST

There was a first league win for IBF London Under 23s on Saturday as they travelled to Wanstead to take on Elite Energy in their game, leaving with three points in a 4-0 success, aided by goals from Damian Morari, William Gould, Binyaamin Sufi and Viet Le.

Also scoring four were Saint City Reserves although their game proved a little closer as SP United pushed them all the way, 4-3 the final scoreline. Aidas Jasikevicius, Luca Jeffries and Vincent Clifford goals were defeated y two Emmanuel Hammond strikes and one each from Justin Lopes and Daoude Cisse.

In the other game from the division, this one needed just a single goal to separate the sides with previously bottom of the table Get Rich Together producing their first win of the league season in a 1-0 home success over the early leaders, Sich London.

DIVISION TWO

There was just the single game in Division Two and that saw Buckhurst Way continue a positive start to the new campaign, defeating Chingford Harriers at Bancroft, 3-1 the final scoreline there.

DIVISION THREE

Redbridge Under 23s found their shooting boots on Saturday, netting six in a 6-1 away win against Millwall Albion with Leonell Antonio scoring twice, Ralph Tynan-Cross, Suheyb Ahmed, George Threadwell and Marcus Musni goals adding the gloss on the result.

It was also a winning afternoon for Thameside Athletic as they made it two wins from their opening five matches in a 4-1 home success against East London Ballers Under 19s with Adebayo Agbetuyi scoring a hat-trick and Harry Pettigrew also striking.

COUNTY CUP

In the BBC Essex Premier Cup, there was first round success for a number of league sides with Frenford Reserves taking the plaudits in a 3-2 home victory over Halstead Town Reserves to book their place in round two.

There was also a win for Bakers693 against outside opposition as they were visited by Essex & Suffolk Border League side Prettygate in their clash. After a 3-3 draw after extra time, it was a 3-2 win in the shootout for Bakers.

Also through are AFC Newbury who were in action with an all-EAL clash against APSA in the first round with Newbury the side to leave the happier on the day, 2-0 the scoreline there as they progressed on.

Another all-league clash came from Hainault where Dagenham United went through by the odd goal in three against hosts, Redbridge Reserves, 2-1 the scoreline there to put United into the hat.

It was an exhilarating game at Robert Clack where Something From Nothing finished level at 3-3 against Old Parkonians after extra time before Parks won the shootout 5-4 to put themselves through.

Romford Town Flyers tasted a rare defeat as they exited the competition against May & Baker EC A in a local derby, ending their winning run with a 3-0 away defeat against the Olympian opposition.

Kit Out London had a trip up the A12 ahead of them on Saturday as they travelled to face an AFC Pegasus Colchester Under 23s side from the Essex & Suffolk Border League, ending on the wrong side of a 3-2 defeat on the day.

Last season’s finalists in the competition, Ocean Pacific, saw their participation reach an end at the first round stage this year, going down to a big 6-1 home defeat against Brentwood Town Under 23s.

Another side who had a long trip ahead of them was Unitey who were in north east Essex on Saturday to face a Bradfield Rovers side and it was the hosts leaving the happier of the sides as the game ended 4-1 in their favour.

In the Essex Junior Trophy, JK Silvertown continued their strong form at the start of the season by defeating Glendale at Fairlop Oak, establishing a three goal half time lead and holding off a second half fightback to win the tie 3-1.

Also heading out of the competition at the round one stage were Old Parkonians Reserves who were in action at Harold Wood Athletic A, the odd goal proving decisive as Wood won the game 2-1.

There was AFA Junior Cup action too on Saturday as Concord United’s foray into the competition saw them tackle Latymer Old Boys in round one, United scoring the tie’s only goal to proceed on the back of a 1-0 win.

It was a seven goal thriller in Barkingside where Bealonians Reserves’ outing in the Old Boys Junior Cup concluded in the Preliminary Round as Old Albanians left with a 4-3 win under their belt.
