On a wet and windy Easter weekend, there was a reduced fixture list taking place but still crucial matches up and down the league.

In the eagerly awaited clash of the two title challengers in Division One, it was Grove United who prevailed over Three Colts in the quarter final of the Division One Cup by a single goal to nil. An early goal from a set piece in the first half was enough to see off the challenge of their closest rivals to set up a semi final clash away to Flyers.

Chingford Athletic moved up to third place in the Premier Division with a comfortable 7-1 win on the road at St Francis. Michael Mignot netted a hat-trick with further goals from Matt Thompson, Scott Campbell, David Livie and Tom Pearce completing the scoring to cancel out Robert Evan’s strike for the Saints. Rainham Working Mens and Chingford Town shared the points in a 2-2 draw to maintain the latter’s chances of avoiding the drop this season.

Chingford Athletic Reserves completed their season in Division Two with a 4-1 win against Northend to secure the third place position in the table for themselves. George Watmough bagged a brace for himself with Lee Newport and Michael Boahene completing the scoring, while Northend’s Ryan Leddra scored his 13th of the season in reply.

Congratulations must also go to St Johns Deaf who continued their dominance in national cup competitions with a crushing 8-0 victory over Sunderland to book a place in the British Deaf Football National Cup Semi Finals.
