A week after Three Colts saw an end to Grove United’s perfect start to the season in Division One, they themselves were on the end of shock result as West Essex Reserves came from 2-0 down to win 3-2 against them. Callum Bloss netted a brace with an in-form Lloyd Renvoize also finding the back of the net again. Grove United took advantage of the situation by winning 8-0 at home to Flyers to stay top of the table by two points. Kitgum Boys’ pressure on the promotion places remains as goals from Shareefu Sendagite (2), Dennis Ssuubi and Isma Bukemya carried them to a 4-0 win against Forest Green. Marios Costi was the star of the show for St Johns Deaf as he scored all four goals for his side in a 4-2 victory over Chingford Harriers. Nick Shawyer and Edwin Jabbari were the players on target with Harriers’ consolation strikes. Also victorious were Cowley Community who beat Glendale 3-1 with goals from Matthew Watts, John Hitchens and Conor Harrington cancelling out a Dales goal from Michael Kemp.

In the Premier Division, second placed Blue Marlin held leaders Jolof Sports Club to a goalless draw at West Ham Park as the chase for the league title took another twist. Chingford Athletic’s game was postponed so they couldn’t close the gap but with games in hand, the title is still in their hands as we enter Spring. May & Baker EC A won 6-0 comfortably at home to St Francis to maintain their grasp on fourth position and pile even more pressure on a second bottom Saints side who have three league games left to survive the drop. Melbourne Sports and Rainham Working Mens Club shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw with Wayne Matthews and Jordan Green netted for the Mels to keep them in seventh position.

Inter Plaistow’s dream of a league title in their first season took one step closer on Saturday as they beat Leyton Green 7-3 in Division Two with Mason Brown netting four times for Inter. Casey Parram, Samuel Garrett and Rasheed Allen were also on target for the second placed side while Paddy Northern (2) and Simon Bush accounted for Green’s goals.

Chingford Town booked their place in the quarter finals of the Fenton Cup following a 4-2 win over Division Two side, London APSA. Tashon Townsend is the man they have to thank as he bagged a hat-trick to go with a strike from Ryan Folan. They’ll now face Rainham Working Mens Club at home in the last eight.
