May & Baker EC A booked their place in the Fenton Cup semi finals with a 1-0 win away at Kitgum Boys on Saturday. The Premier Division side came into the game as favourites but were pushed hard against a title chasing Division One side in Kitgum who might count themselves unlucky with the only goal coming late in the second half to end their hopes.

In the Premier Division, Rainham Working Mens Club cut the gap with fourth placed May & Baker EC A to six points with a 2-1 home win over London Falcons. Steve Barlex and Tony Maynard were the heroes, netting to see their side to a fourth league win of the season. Blue Marlin and Buckhurst Hill Under 21s shared the points in a 2-2 draw with Marlin moving up to third place in the process and Hill moving a place clear of the relegation zone.

Three Colts find themselves top of Division One at Christmas following a narrow 2-1 win at Cowley Community maintaining their perfect league record so far this season. Tom Jakob and Marshall Smith were the scorers for Colts with Mark Farinha responding for Cowley.

Also taking full advantage of the festive football action were new Division Two leaders, Inter Plaistow, who saw off St Francis Reserves in a tight encounter with a single first half Casey Parram strike in the first half separating the sides as Inter won 1-0.

That concludes our coverage of the first half of the 2015/16 season and we hope you have enjoyed our reports so far. We wish everybody a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
