Football given green light to return in August by FA

The news that many had been eagerly awaiting finally arrived over the weekend as the FA's plans for the resumption of football were approved by the government, allowing 11-a-side football to resume from 1st August.

As expected, there are a number of conditions to this approval which mean that football will take a slightly different shape for the early part of the season particuarly around the use of changing rooms, sharing of equipment, need for regular cleaning and social distancing away from match play.
