It's cup final action once again this Saturday with the showpiece Fenton Cup Final taking centre stage at Billericay Town FC with the second instalment of Woodford East vs FC Petrocub, kick-off 5pm.

For Halil Hassan's Woodford East side, they will be desperate to end the season with their first silverware of the campaign having been so close in a number of competitions so far this season including, of course, the most recent defeat to their opponents on Saturday. The Peacocks began their run in the competition with an emphatic 16-1 win against Leyton City before defeating Aveley Under 23s 4-2 in the second round. They overcame Frenford Development in the quarter finals, winning 3-1, before a semi-final victory against Fairlop Rovers where they defeated their rivals 4-0 to book their place at New Lodge.

Over in the other dugout on Saturday will be an FC Petrocub who sit ninety minutes away from a cups cleansweep this season, having already bagged both the London Senior Trophy and the Senior Division Cup too last weekend at Dagenham & Redbridge. They began their run to the final with a first round penalty shootout victory at home to May & Baker EC Reserves after a 2-2 draw before they defeated Walthamstow Reserves in the second round with a comfortable 6-1 win. They were at home again in the quarter-finals where they edged a thriller of a game against league champions Brimsdown on penalties before a hard-fought 2-0 win against Kit Out London in a Noak Hill semi-final derby.

Once again, the statistics say that, on paper, this is a contest that's very close to call. But you wonder how much of last weekend's contest between these two sides, won 4-1 by FC Petrocub, will play a part in determining the outcome of this. Can the Peacocks raise their game for one last hurrah this term and overcome the Petrocub juggernault?
