The penultimate cup final of the season takes this Thursday evening as Division Three's top two clubs, FC Baresi Under 23s and Old Barkabbeyans Reserves, go head-to-head for cup glory down at Dagenham & Redbridge FC, kicking off at 7.30pm.

It's already been a successful season for an FC Baresi Under 23s side who only formed last summer but have found instant success, winning the league crown with just a single defeat to their name by a six point margin over their opponents on Thursday evening. Their run to the final began with a 5-0 home success against Terin in the first round before a 5-1 win away at rivals Royal Forest Reserves in the quarter-finals. It took a penalty shootout though to make the final as they were fought back to level at 2-2 against ASA in the semi-finals, before rolling out 4-2 winners from the spot to set their side up for a potential league and cup double.

The other half of the line-up on Thursday sees Old Barkabbeyans Reserves into their first final with the league, on the back of what I'm sure they will consider to have been a very good season for the club, finishing second to their opponents and having amassed the highest goal tally in the league, hitting over a century of goals. Their run to the final began at the quarter final stage as they came through in a 4-1 win against Buckhurst Way to set up a semi-final clash against Glendale. A solid second half performance saw them win comfortably 5-0 to send their side through to the final at Dagenham.

Thursday's final will also see us welcome the JP8 Charitable Trust to the game as guests of the league, recognising the great work they are doing in memory of Jack Phillips, the last player to lift this trophy back in 2019.

We look forward to welcoming everybody along for what should be a terrific occasion.
