The draws for the Essex County FA cup competitions for this season have been released and we are pleased to provide the lowdown on who our sides will be facing this season.
Starting with the Essex Junior Cup, reigning champions – Chingford Athletic – will start their defence of the crown away at Olympian side May & Baker EC Reserves in the 1st round.
In the second round, Ferns Seniors travel to Basildon to face Mid Essex League side Elgar Eagles in a cracking looking tie. Upminster Reserves travel to Hainault to face Manford Way Reserves while new side, Lopes Tavares London, make their debut in the competition with an away tie at Olympian outfit, Westhamians, in round 2. One of the ties of round sees an-EAL clash with Melbourne Sports hosting Grove United.
In the Essex Junior Trophy, Chigwell Rovers make their debut in the 1st round with a trip to face Baddow Athletic of the Mid Essex League.
Following a number of byes, eleven sides start their campaign in the second round. There are three all-EAL ties as Cowley Community take on Singh Sabha Barking and Chingford Athletic Reserves host Inter Plaistow. Three Colts host Ryan Reserves in the other all-EAL tie.
New side, Kitroom, go to Mid Essex side Frenford Senior A while Glendale are also facing Mid Essex opposition on the road at Harold Wood Athletic ‘B’. West Essex Reserves will be at home in a local derby against Olympian team Newbury Forest Reserves while Colebrook Royals also have a tie against Olympian opposition as they entertain Harold Hill Under 21s. Rounding off the action, Chingford Harriers take on Mid Essex side, Emeronians.
