This weekend, nine of our sides are representing the league in county cup competitions as the opening rounds of the Essex Junior Cup and Junior Trophy get underway in the county.

Almost all of our sides have long journeys ahead of them with only Chingford Town and Buckhurst Hill Under 21s at home in the opening round.

In the Essex Junior Cup, Melbourne Sports travel to south Essex where they will face struggling Essex Olympian outfit, Benfleet Reserves. Our other Junior Cup representatives in action are Chingford Town who will open their county cup campaign with the visit of Southend Borough & District Football Combination high-flyers, Corinthians, in a tough looking tie.

The Essex Junior Trophy sees a few Essex Alliance League vs Mid Essex League clashes, a number of which will involve journeys into the Mid Essex countryside for our clubs. Inter Plaistow's maiden voyage in the competition is to Walthamstow to face Essex Olympian outfit, Ryan Under 21s while West Essex Reserves travel to the village of Wickham Bishops to face Beacon Hill Reserves of the Mid Essex League. Grove United make the short trip to Warley to face Mid Essex Division Three side Haver Town Reserves with both sides in good form so far. Glendale have the longest journey ahead as they travel to north Essex to face a Braintree and Bocking United Reserves side who hail from the Mid Essex League Division Five. Chingford Athletic Reserves’ draw sees them face Mid Essex Division Three top of the table Harold Wood Athletic B while Buckhurst Hill Under 21s play host to Baddow Athletic from Mid Essex Division Five. Division Two’s leaders, Singh Sabha Barking, take on Romford & District Premier Division side Brentwood United in the final tie affecting our sides.

Good luck to all of the Essex Alliance League teams in county cup action this weekend.
